LEAH

I slowly opened my eyes, the world around me blurry at first before the white walls of the pack clinic came into focus.

My body felt weak, but the faint smile on my lips showed my heart was full of satisfaction. I was finally getting what I wanted, finally getting the upper hand.

As I turned my head, I saw Cane standing by my bedside, tall and strong, his face unreadable. Just the sight of him there made me feel victorious.

I knew that he was here because of the child, because of the life growing inside me. And that knowledge gave me a sense of power, a sense of control.

I looked at Cane, my eyes locked on his, and I could see the tension in his body. He was trying to hide it, trying to keep his emotions in check, but I could see it. He was worried, concerned about the future and about the child.

But I didn't care about his worries. I didn't care about his concerns. All I cared about was the fact that he was here, that he was acknowledging the child. And that was all that matte

  • Claws Of Fate   Chapter 142

CANEI stood at Leah's bedside, arms crossed, my wolf restless beneath my skin. I had been silent as she opened her eyes and began to speak, her voice soft but sharp, dripping with a twisted kind of hope. She spoke of carrying my child, of a future where we could finally be together.I felt a surge of disgust at her words, a wave of revulsion that threatened to overwhelm me. How could she think that I would ever consider being with her, after all she had done? How could she think that I would abandon Ava, the woman I loved, for her?Leah's eyes sparkled with a manic energy, her face alight with a fervor that was both captivating and repulsive. She spoke of a future, one where we would be together, where we would raise our child as a family. But it was a future that I didn't want, a future that I wouldn't allow. As she spoke, I felt my wolf growling inside me, his hackles raised in anger and disgust. He didn't like Leah's words, didn't like the way she was trying to manipulate me.

  • Claws Of Fate   Chapter 140

CANEI walked into the pack clinic, the familiar scent of medicine and herbs greeting me like an old friend. The clinic was a place I'd spent a lot of time in, especially during times of war and conflict. It was a place of healing, of recovery, and sometimes, of revelation. As I scanned the room, my eyes landed on Leah, lying on the bed, not awake, looking weak but calm. I stood there with my arms folded, staring at her. My expression was neutral, but my mind was working overtime.I wasn't there because I cared about her deeply. If anything, Leah had proven to be a thorn in my side, a constant source of trouble and conflict. But I needed to know what was happening, and she was at the center of it all.I studied her face, trying to read her expression. She looked... peaceful, almost. It was a strange contrast to the fierce warrior I knew her to be. But I wasn't fooled. I knew that beneath that calm exterior, Leah was still a force to be reckoned with.As I stood there, I couldn't he

  • Claws Of Fate   Chapter 139

LEAHI lay weak and half-unconscious, my body feeling like it was stuck between sleep and waking. I couldn't shake off the feeling of lethargy that had settled over me, making it hard to move, hard to think. My eyelids felt heavy, and I could barely pry them open.As I slowly came to, I realized I was no longer in the dungeon. The cold stone walls and damp air were gone, replaced by a warmer, more sterile environment. I smelled herbs and medicine, the familiar scent of the pack's clinic.I tried to move, to sit up, but my body felt like lead. I couldn't muster the strength to do more than lift my head slightly, and even that small movement left me breathless. What had happened? I didn't remember being taken out of the dungeon. I didn't remember anything except the feeling of weakness spreading through my body, like my strength was being drained away.As I lay there, trying to gather my thoughts, I heard the sound of voices outside my room. They were hushed, but I could make out the to

  • Claws Of Fate   Chapter 138

CANEI was finally beginning to relax after all the battles and dangers. I was sitting quietly with Ava, and for the first time in months, I felt calm. The tension that had been building up inside me for so long was slowly seeping away, replaced by a sense of peace and tranquility. We didn't even need to talk much; just being close to each other brought me peace. Ava's presence was like a balm to my soul, soothing the rough edges and calming the stormy waters. I felt like I could finally breathe again, like I had been holding my breath for far too long.My wolf inside me was also calm, happy that Ava was beside me. He was a restless creature, always on the lookout for threats and danger. But with Ava by my side, he was content to relax, to let his guard down and simply be.I glanced down at Ava, watching as she leaned her head on my shoulder. She looked peaceful, her eyes closed and her breathing slow. I felt a surge of love and protectiveness towards her, a desire to keep her saf

  • Claws Of Fate   Chapter 137

AVAFor the first time in a long while, everything was calm. I sat by the palace window, just enjoying the peace of the night. The moonlight shone on my face, casting a silver glow over everything. I felt a sense of tranquility wash over me, a sense of relief that I hadn't felt in a long time.Beside me, Cane was sitting quietly, finally letting himself relax after all the stress. His eyes were closed, his chest rising and falling with each breath. I glanced over at him, feeling a sense of gratitude towards him. He had protected me, had stood by me through thick and thin. I didn't know what I would have done without him.As I sat there, I felt a sense of peace settle over me. The world outside seemed to be at peace, the trees swaying gently in the breeze, the stars twinkling in the sky. It was a beautiful night, a night to be savored.I turned my gaze back to Cane, watching him as he slept. His face was relaxed, his features softened. He looked younger, more vulnerable. I felt a
