CANE

I stood frozen, watching from a distance as Ava dragged Liz aside, her movements sharp with fury. My wolf stirred uneasily inside me, pacing restlessly like a creature trapped in a too-small cage.

It sensed the turmoil in Ava, the tempest brewing in her eyes, and it didn't know whether to howl in warning or crouch in protective instinct.

The words Liz had spoken still lingered in my mind like smoke that refused to clear. They twisted and pulled at the threads of my trust, probing for weaknesses, seeking to unravel the certainty I had about Ava.

But deep down, I knew Ava's truth. I knew the woman she was strong, loyal, mine.

My gaze tracked Ava as she confronted Liz, the air between them thickening with tension like the moments before a summer storm breaks.

Ava's back was rigid, her shoulders tight with anger, and I could almost feel the heat of her emotions radiating outward like waves off hot asphalt.

Liz, on the other hand, looked almost pleased with herself, a subtle smirk

  • Claws Of Fate   Chapter 188

AVAI was in my chamber, getting ready for the day, when I noticed something unusual. Cane's mother, who normally loved spending time with me in the mornings, hadn't shown up. At first, I thought maybe she was resting, maybe she wasn't feeling well. But as the minutes ticked by, a strange unease crept into my chest.I tried to brush it off, telling myself I was being paranoid. But the feeling persisted, growing stronger with each passing moment. I couldn't shake the sense that something was off.I decided to ask one of the maids to check on her, to see if everything was okay. I called out to a passing maid, a young girl named Sophia, and asked her to go check on Cane's mother.Sophia nodded and hurried off, leaving me to wait anxiously. I tried to occupy myself by getting dressed, but my mind kept wandering back to Cane's mother. Where was she? Why hadn't she come to breakfast?Sophia returned a few minutes later, looking worried. "Ava, I couldn't find her," she said, her voice

  • Claws Of Fate   Chapter 187

LEAHI sat in a dark room, the shadows dancing across my face as I smiled to myself. Everything was falling into place, just as I had planned. I had already sent a few of my men into Cane's pack, disguised as traders. They were to observe, gather information, and weaken security from the inside. My eyes glowed with determination as I thought about the plan unfolding perfectly. Cane might think he was tightening defenses, but I knew where to push and break them. I knew his weaknesses, knew where to strike to cause the most damage.I leaned back in my chair, my mind racing with possibilities. Cane thought he was so strong, so powerful, but I knew better. I knew that beneath his tough exterior, he was vulnerable. And I was going to exploit that vulnerability, use it to my advantage. My smile grew wider as I thought about the chaos that was about to ensue. Cane's pack would be caught off guard, unsure of what was happening. And I would be the one pulling the strings, directing the ch

AVAI watched Cane, noticing that he had been restless all day. Even when we were together, his mind seemed far away, heavy with thoughts. I could sense the tension in his body, the way his eyes would glaze over as if he was lost in thought. As I sat next to him, I could feel his wolf energy on edge. It was like a low hum, a vibration that seemed to emanate from his very being.I knew that Cane's wolf was a powerful force, one that he had learned to control over the years. But today, it seemed different. Today, it seemed like his wolf was on high alert, sensing something that I couldn't.I reached out, placing a gentle hand on his arm. "Cane, what's wrong?" I asked, my voice soft and concerned. He looked at me, his eyes flashing with a mixture of emotions. For a moment, I thought he would open up, tell me what was bothering him. But then, his expression changed, and he smiled, a faint, distracted smile."Nothing, Ava," he said, his voice low and soothing. "Just a lot on my mind, t

  • Claws Of Fate   Chapter 185

CANEI stood in the war room, studying the security maps and reports, my mind focused on the potential threats that lurked outside our borders. But my attention was interrupted when Jesse, my Beta, walked in looking serious. From his face alone, I knew something was wrong."What's going on, Jesse?" I asked, my voice firm and commanding.Jesse's expression was grim. "We've had some strangers come into the pack's land in the last two days," he said, his voice low and urgent. “They say they're traders and visitors, but their behavior doesn't feel right."My instincts kicked in, and I felt a sense of unease. "What do you mean?" I asked, my eyes narrowing.Jesse hesitated, his face set in a determined expression. "They're asking too many questions, Alpha. They're curious about our patrols, our security measures. And they're lingering around the borders, like they're waiting for something."My gut told me that this wasn't just a coincidence. "Get me more information on these strangers," I

LEAHI stood in the shadows, my spies' words echoing in my mind. Liz's role as an insider was falling apart. I couldn't believe it. All my plans, all my careful manipulation, and it was all coming undone. But instead of retreating, I seized the moment. I knew that Cane would tighten security, that he would try to prepare for the worst. And if they waited longer, Cane's pack would be too strong. I couldn't let that happen.I made my way to the secret meeting place, my heart pounding in my chest. Alpha Fred was already there, his eyes narrowing as I approached. "What news do you bring me, Leah?" he asked, his voice low and menacing.I smiled, my lips curling up. "Liz's role is compromised," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "Cane knows about her connection to you, and he's tightening security. If we wait longer, his pack will be too strong."Alpha Fred's eyes flashed with anger, but I could see the calculation in his mind. He was weighing the risks, considering the options.

  • Claws Of Fate   Chapter 183

AVAI didn't wait a moment longer. After Sophie revealed the shocking truth about Liz working with Alpha Fred, I knew Cane had to hear it right away. I rushed down the long hallways of the palace, my heart pounding in my chest. The soft glow of the torches cast flickering shadows on the walls, and the sound of my footsteps echoed through the corridors. As I approached the war chamber, I could feel the weight of the situation bearing down on me. I knew that Cane was in a serious meeting with the elders and his father, discussing the latest developments and strategies. But I couldn't wait. The news I had to share was too important, too urgent.I pushed open the heavy wooden door and slipped inside, my eyes scanning the room for Cane. He was seated at the head of the table, surrounded by the elders and his father. Maps and scrolls were spread across the table, and the discussion was tense. Cane's eyes met mine, and I could see a flicker of surprise and curiosity."Ava, what is it?"
