I lay in bed, my body still weak from the attack. My recovery seemed to be slow, but I was grateful to be alive.

Sophia had been a godsend, bringing me clothes and other things I needed. She was always chatting and laughing, trying to lift my spirits.

But despite her efforts, I couldn't shake off the feeling of being trapped. Cane had kept guards with me all the time, and while I appreciated his concern, it was suffocating. I felt like a prisoner in my own home.

And yet, despite the suffocating feeling, I couldn't help but yearn for Cane's visits. True to his words, he had come to see me every day, his face etched with concern.

Whenever he was around, he would take care of me, not letting me lift a finger. I would complain about being bored, needing something to distract me from the monotony of my days.

Cane would smile and try to entertain me, telling me stories or reading to me. His presence was a balm to my soul, and I found myself looking forward to his visits more and more.
