36. Aggravated

Jules kept a finger to her lips to ensure I didn't make any sound, but I couldn't keep my eyes off her.

However, my silence aggravated my father and he placed his leg on my thigh, putting all his weight on it. I cried out in pain. I could feel a glass under my thigh and it was digging into me violently.

I didn't feel any remorse for whatever Jules was about to do. He might end up killing me if she didn't intervene.

One minute, his leg was on me. The next minute, the pressure was removed and he turned around swiftly, catching Jules' hand just in time. Her eyes widened in fear as the vase clattered to the ground.

He wrapped his hand around her neck, laughing as he pushed her backward. "And what were you just about to do?"

Frantically, I looked around, searching for what I could use to stop him, then I pathetically remembered that he was stronger than both of us combined and if I didn't do anything, he may hurt Jules.
