37. Fainted

Although Rowan had assured me that Cassandra would accept the house, I was still unsure.

After all, she'd known us for two weeks. We might be coming on strong and it may end up chasing her away. I'd instructed her to check out the house with Rowan yesterday, but I wasn't going to push it anymore. I didn't want to do anything that would make her leave us.

When I walked into my office, my eyes went straight to her desk to find it empty. I frowned.

All day this week, she had made sure to arrive at work before me and she always had my coffee on my desk.

I sighed. Maybe, she was avoiding us. I thought of calling her but immediately squashed the thought. I should give her a little time. She could just be running late.

I went back out to tell the secretary to get me coffee before going back in and starting my work.
