"Let's throw a party."

"Get out of my room," I yelled out from my closet as soon as I heard Jules' voice. I was in the middle of getting ready for work.

Instead of listening to me, she stuck her head inside my closet, strolling inside when she saw me putting on my pants. "Pleaseeee. A Halloween party."

"We've had too many parties for the year."

"We've had only one party!" She cried out.

"Yeah, a week ago and it's enough for the year. We'll have another one next year."

Jules scowled at me. "I wasn't asking you. I was telling you." I arched an eyebrow at her. Technically, it was my house, so— "Fine. Please. If you don't want to attend the party, you can just stay at your other house."

"What other house?" I frowned, fixing my earrings.

She rolled her eyes. "Matteo and Rowan's, of course."

"Shut up."

"Anyway, real talk. Are we throwing the party or not?"

"We're not in college anymore, Jules."

"Yeah, but we're still young. We are twenty-three, Cassie. Not fifty."
