I could not resist the urge to glance back at Lynn whose face flushed red with embarrassment and her head downturned.

As she raised her head and our eyes met, her lips curled up and her jaw clenched. A smile stretched across my lips which seemed to upset her even more.

I guess she didn't expect Vladiv to ignore her, she thought he was one of those men who would always fall at her feet.

I staved off my gaze from her on hearing my father's voice.

"Greetings Don Vladiv," his signature cocky grin plastered on his face as he descended the stairs. He swaggered to Vladiv who was now rested on the couch.

"Good evening Dad," I mumbled and he turned to me.

"Margaret, how are you?" He asked.

"I'm fine," I answered, but his attention was off me and focused on Vladiv. As always he didn't really care how I was, he just asked for the sake of it.
