Mag-log in"Cassandra Raeburn, you little w*nch! You're hiding in your room again, aren't you? Look at the time. Why haven't you made us any food? Do you want Lucian and me to starve?"
The sharp, angry voice echoed through the house, and Cassandra let out a long sigh.
Her nightmare had started the night she married into the Dark Moon Pack.
The pack members never accepted her as their Luna. Alpha's mother, Sienna had treated her like a servant, ordering her to do laundry and cook every day.
At first, she could have fought back. After all, a mate marked by an Alpha is supposed to gain part of his power.
When Alpha Thaddeus marked her, she did feel the rush of his strength flowing through her. But that feeling was fleet and soon the power disappeared completely.
No one knew why, not even Haley.
In the end, Cassandra and Haley concluded that it was because the Alpha had never truly accepted her in his heart when he marked her.
The pack soon noticed this-there was no trace of the Alpha's power in their Luna. And a Luna without that power wasn't worth their respect.
As a result, any adult werewolf in the Dark Moon Pack could bully her, thinking, 'How could Cassandra, with nothing but her own strength, possibly stand up to so many of us?'
Gradually, she grew weaker, numb to it all, and stopped trying to resist.
"Hey, b*tch! Come down now and help me pack my bag. I still have school tomorrow!" a young boy urged.
Lucian Fallon was the younger brother of Thaddeus. Even though he didn't have an inner wolf at that time, he was nothing short of a little demon, always causing trouble for Cassandra.
To him, Alpha's Luna was weak and unassertive, which made easier to bully than even the smallest of puppies.
Cassandra casually wiped off the cold sweat from her forehead, quickly descended the stairs, and entered the kitchen to prepare food. She also arranged the lunchbox and packed the bag for Lucian.
"Mom, Lucian, dinner's ready! We can eat now."
Sienna was infuriated by the sight of Cassandra, who looked like a zombie. She gave Cassandra a disdainful glance and scolded, "How dare you give me that attitude at my dinner table, you little b*tch! Do you want me and Lucian to enjoy our meal or not? You've got such a wretched face! I'll tell Alpha and have him break the bond with you!"
"That old b*tch! She's the one with a wretched face!" For the past six years, Haley had always referred to Sienna that way. Out of the whole pack, it was Sienna who bullied Cassandra the most. Yet, ironically, Cassandra still respected her as Alpha's mother.
Cassandra tightly clenched her fists, took a deep breath, and somehow managed to squeeze out a faint smile as she said, "I'm not giving you attitude, Mom."
Sienna was incredulous, her voice laced with sarcasm as she said, "Cassandra, don't think just because you have Mom backing you up, that you've secured your position as Luna. When compared to Meredith, you're nothing!"
Upon hearing that woman's name, Cassandra's face turned pale.
Lucian's eyes flickered, clearly noticing something, and he said with a grin, "You're not aware yet, are you? Meredith is about to be discharged from the hospital, and my brother is planning to bring her back to Dark Moon Pack. The Alpha of Storm Pack has also agreed for his daughter to move in, so she'll be living with us in the future."
Cassandra's eyelids twitched, her lips trembling ever so slightly.
"Meredith again! Didn't that woman enter a vegetative state six years ago? To think she could actually wake up after being in a coma for six years! She's really something else!" Haley couldn't help but voice her disdain. Upon hearing the name Meredith, Haley's words were filled with contempt.
Sienna looked down on Cassandra for putting on an act of self-pity. She scoffed, waving her hand impatiently, "Don't stand in front of me! You're ruining my appetite! Now, scram!"
Without a moment's pause, Cassandra prepared to turn and ascend the stairs, when she heard the sound of a car outside the door.
Cassandra's eyes lit up suddenly, and she scampered to the living room to welcome Alpha home.
A man with a slender figure in a suit stepped out of the car. His handsome features and exceptional demeanor made him even more attractive than the biggest stars on television.
Upon catching sight of Cassandra standing at the doorway, their eyes met for a brief moment.
His gaze was icy, devoid of any warmth. Then his brows furrowed, his eyes filled with impatience.
Cassandra was accustomed to such gazes. A tug appeared at the corner of her mouth, void of any trace of amusement.
After Thaddeus entered the living room, Cassandra followed him as she usually did, attending to Alpha's meal. However, today, Alpha unusually initiated the conversation with her by saying, "I have something to tell you."
Thaddeus glanced at Sienna and Lucian, who were eating in the living room, then added, "Let's continue this conversation upstairs in the bedroom."
Sienna rushed forward to her son with a complaint. "Thaddeus, you're finally back! This woman has been giving me and Lucian the cold shoulder day in and day out!"
"Exactly! She can't even be bothered to cook! If such a simple task is beyond her, then how can we expect her to protect us in battle?" Lucian joined in, mocking Cassandra.
Thaddeus simply stood there and cast a casual glance at the two of them. Feeling the overpowering aura of an Alpha, they immediately shut their mouths.
The two of them then entered the bedroom, one after the other. As soon as the door closed, Cassandra found herself locked in Thaddeus' gaze.
His dark eyes were filled with indifference and alienation as he stared at her, but they were devoid of any warmth.
Thaddeus' thin lips moved slightly as he said in a deep voice, "Meredith is coming back, so you need to move out tomorrow."
Cassandra's heart gradually grew cold.
So, Lucian was right about what he said...
"No, I refuse!" Her voice was soft, yet carried an unwavering determination. Haley sensed her resolve and was filled with a newfound vigor as well.
However, no matter how enthusiastic they were, they both had to bow down before Alpha.
Thaddeus furrowed his brows.
For the first time, the woman who had always followed his words and plans was defying him.
His voice turned icy as he said, "What gives you the right to refuse? Don't forget how you ended up marrying me six years ago."
Thaddeus steadily advanced toward her, ultimately cornering her against the wall. His voice was icy as he questioned, "Do you really think I would believe you?"When he uttered those words, a wave of agonizing pain radiated from within him. It was that d*mned mark again, punishing him whenever he spoke harshly to his destined mate.Any doubt or harsh remarks he cast upon his destined mate would only intensify his agony. Yet, Thaddeus felt doubting Meredith words was akin to questioning the love between them.Compared to that, he was more inclined to believe in Meredith, whom he loved deeply.Thaddeus's inner wolf howled in agony. The forced union of two destined mates who didn't love each other would cause even Orso, Thaddeus' inner wolf, to experience a heart-wrenching sensation."I didn't push her!" Cassandra stared intently into Thaddeus' eyes, her conscience clear and her tone unwavering.Enduring the pain within, Thaddeus gazed down at her condescendingly. "You're a smart woman.
"Cassandra Raeburn, you little w*nch! You're hiding in your room again, aren't you? Look at the time. Why haven't you made us any food? Do you want Lucian and me to starve?"The piercing sound echoed, and Cassandra opened her eyes. Her voice was hoarse, and the intense pain felt as if it was tearing her body apart. She was in such agony that her body arched, and she abruptly sat up, the upper half of her body erect. She touched her throat, then her shoulder and abdomen. Her eyes widened in surprise. What just happened? She remembered her encounter with two wolves in the forest. She was defenseless and, in no time at all, the wolves had her cornered and killed. The distant yet steadfast voice of "Cassandra" was her wolf's call."Haley?" Cassandra called out again."Yes, Cassandra. I'm here.""What's going on? I thought you had left me," Cassandra exclaimed, both shocked and thrilled."Yes, but I returned because you were reincarnated," Haley explained. "A werewolf with a restless heart
When Meredith fell from the building and was seriously injured, it was Cassandra who called the emergency hotline. She was also the one who donated Rh-negative blood to Meredith. Thaddeus was grateful to her and promised to fulfill Cassandra's request. At the time, Cassandra had only one request-to become Thaddeus' only mate, to be his Luna. It was a thought that took deep root in her heart the moment she first saw Thaddeus in high school.Back then, only when the doctor had declared that there was no chance of Meredith waking up that Thaddeus begrudgingly agreed to her request. However, Thaddeus had always been indifferent toward her.Cassandra lifted her chin, staring at him unflinchingly. "Thaddeus, don't you even realize that I am your destined mate? Why should I have to move out just because she's back?"Thaddeus' gaze suddenly shifted toward her, the expression on his face gradually darkening. The profound depth in his eyes became even more terrifying. "Why? Because Meredith cla

At the anniversary of the mating ritual on the twenty-fourth of January, Cassandra Raeburn sat expressionlessly on the sofa, her gaze fixed on the day highlighted in a bold red circle on the calendar.Slowly, she closed her eyes.If they were just an ordinary couple, they would have been celebrating their anniversary at this moment. Instead, she was nestled in the chilly bedroom sofa, occasionally glancing at the full moon outside.Six years ago, under a similar full moon, she and Thaddeus Fallon had engaged in a mating ritual that didn't receive the blessings of others.Cassandra knew that the werewolves from Dark Moon Pack were all eagerly anticipating Meredith Gardner to become their new Luna. Everyone could clearly see Alpha's love for Meredith.A large crowd of pack members stood by, coldly observing this mating ritual. It was the most desolate and bleak ceremony they had ever witnessed, and it was clear that the Alpha was participating reluctantly and without any real desire."T
