Chapter 26 Not Her Place

"I'll try," Henry said.

Gabriella gathered the courage to ask, "What happened to Ms. Bennett?"

She had a feeling Henry would not be coming back again, just like yesterday. She wondered what Hannah had told him to make him leave.

Henry turned around and frowned. "Gabriella, you never asked so many questions in the past."

Gabriella paled. "My leg hurts a lot. Can you ..."

"Your leg injury isn't serious. If there's anything you need, just ask Maria," Henry said coldly. He left her room without hesitation.

As Gabriella stared at his retreating figure, a surge of bitterness welled up in her heart.

It was rare for her to show her weak side, but in the end, all she received in return was his coldness.
