Chapter 6 Let Me Teach You a Lesson

As soon as Jodie White heard Gabriella's voice, she fumed, "Ms. Carrington, if you think that Emma's status doesn't match up to Toussaint Holdings, just say so.

"She doesn't rely solely on you. But look at what you have done!"

She continued, "We turned down other brand endorsements in favor of this one, and now you're suddenly saying you no longer wish to work with Emma.

"Are you making a fool of us? You need to give us a proper explanation!"

"Calm down, Jodie. We've already chosen Emma as our brand ambassador. Why would we possibly replace her?" Gabriella asked.

"Have you not heard of it yet? The director of your public relations department called us personally and said that they wanted to get someone else as their ambassador!"

Gabriella was stunned.

"Jodie, let me find out what happened. I'll definitely give Emma a proper explanation."

After ending the call, Gabriella stormed off to the public relations department with a long face. Her heels clacked resoundingly as she walked.

Throughout her three years in Toussaint Holdings, Imogen Tarth had consistently made things difficult for her.

When the employees saw Gabriella leave her office angrily, they started whispering among themselves.

"It looks like a good show is coming up soon. Ms. Tarth and Ms. Carrington have always been on bad terms with each other."

Gabriella marched straight into Imogen's office.

"Imogen, you better explain yourself for what you did with Emma's endorsement deal!"

Imogen was not surprised that Gabriella had come over.

With her arms crossed, she walked over to Gabriella leisurely and said, "Ms. Carrington, why are you so wound up? Have a seat first."

"Stop pretending! Mr. Henry has already approved the project! Who are you to meddle with MQ's matters?"

"So what if I meddled with it? You have no right to shout at me! If it weren't for your father, do you think you'd be MQ's brand director?"

Gabriella stared at her coldly.

"How I became the brand director has nothing to do with you, nor do you have any right to talk about it!"

She would not allow anyone to humiliate her father!

A lot of the employees noticed what was going on. Silently, they took their eyes off their screens and stared at the two women inside the office.

"Am I not telling the truth here? Weren't you the one who acted all pitiful just so you could get into Toussaint Holdings? You even tried to seduce Mr. Henry!"

Imogen snickered as she looked at Gabriella mockingly.

She had seen Gabriella getting out of Henry's car several times when she came to work.

Not only that, but she also saw Gabriella frequently going in and out of Henry's office during lunchtime.

It was not until she looked into it that she found out Gabriella was nothing more than a country bumpkin.

Her father had donated his liver to Albert, and they used this matter to pressure the Toussaint family into adopting Gabriella in return.

On top of that, Gabriella even tried hooking up with Henry again and again.

What a shameless woman!

A hint of jealousy flashed across Imogen's eyes.

"Unfortunately, Ms. Bennett is back! Mr. Henry won't want you even if you throw yourself at him! If your dad were to find out about this—"

A hard slap rang out before Imogen could finish.

Everything fell silent at once.

The employees held their breaths as they exchanged glances with one another.

Imogen held her face and looked at Gabriella incredulously.

"How dare you hit me, Gabriella? With such a shameless daughter like you, it's no wonder your dad died early! He should have—"

"Since you don't know what it means to respect others, let me teach you a lesson today."

Gabriella's gaze was frosty. She enunciated her words clearly.

Then, she raised her hand and swung it fiercely at Imogen.

However, it did not land on Imogen's face this time.

Someone caught Gabriella's wrist at the very last second.

Gabriella turned around irritably.

She could not help but be stunned by what she saw.

"Mr. Henry."
