Chapter 43

Vlad holds Alaric up with his hands, “ bow down to your new king!”

Three vampires run to save the king. Tonya strikes them with power, and they fall to the ground. The crowd, murmurs, and one by one they bow. Tonya starts to cry, and runs through the crowd. Diego is about to follow her, but Jolene stops him.

She kindly says, “I’m going to talk to her.”

He nods and informs her, “Alaric is her mate.”

Jolene understands and then runs after her. She follows the sound of cries. She rolls her eyes and shakes her head when she finds her in a tree. She grunts while trying to climb the tree.

Tanya can’t help but laugh at the sight of her, and in between tears, she asks, “I take it that you’re not a tree person?”
