After bombarding him with lots of

questions, the child remained silent, but

started shaking even more like a frightened kitten, he looked like he was indeed suffering from cold, he must have been sitting on the cold floor for a while, and also he was so scared of having Miranda Quentin come near him that he shuddered in fear.

Miranda Quentin surrendered on initiating a conversation with the little boy. She had nothing to do with him anyway.
