VENUS

Aaron didn’t even blink.

When Sabine cleared her throat, fidgeting with the hem of her blouse like she was about to confess to murder, I expected him to arch a brow, ask questions, demand blood.

Instead, he leaned back in his chair slow, cool like he’d been waiting for this moment all night.

“You’re fidgeting, Sabine,” he said, not even looking up from his glass. “That usually means you’re about to confess something.”

Connor chuckled. Sabine paled.

Aaron finally lifted his gaze, bored and sharp at the same time.

“So,” he said, “which one of you is going to say it first?”

Sabine blinked. “Say what?”

“That you’re together.” He glanced between the two of them. “Dating. Sleeping together. Whatever you want to call it. I was wondering how long you’d both drag this out.”

My jaw nearly dropped.

Sabine stared like he’d grown a second head. “Wait, you knew?”

“I suspected,” he said with a shrug. “Connor doesn’t start attending art shows for no reason. And you don’t suddenly ‘drop by’ his

AARONHe hit the wall, coughing, blood smeared across his lip.“Touch her again,” I growled, my voice a low, dangerous rumble, “and I’ll break every bone you’ve got left.”He grinned through the pain, the bastard. “You assume I touched her.”“You really want to test me?”“Oh no,” he rasped, wiping blood from his mouth with the back of his hand. “I want to show you something.”He staggered over to his desk, pulled out a sleek black folder, and slid it across the table.I didn’t move. Didn’t breathe. But curiosity was poison, and I was already infected. My hand reached before I told it to, unfolding the flap slowly. It wasn’t more photos. It was the contract.Ours.Every line. Every clause. Every condition we agreed on.But this wasn’t my copy.It was hers.A copy only Venus should’ve had.Dorian leaned back like a king watching his pawn fall. Smug. Pleased.“I told you,” he said, coolly. “You don’t know her like you think you do.”And for the first time in years—I didn’t know what was

VENUSLondon had become a dream these past few days, wrapped in silk mornings, chaotic laughter, and the clink of teacups against delicate saucers. And it was a shame, really, that we’d be leaving in less than three days. Time moved too fast, too damn fast. I wouldn't say I wasn’t excited to see Aaron again, but something inside me whispered that the clock was ticking louder than usual.Speaking of him... he hadn’t texted me since this morning.I’d sent several messages. Nothing dramatic. Just small check-ins, a meme or two Gianna forced me to forward, a picture of Sabine looking like a Bond villain in oversized sunglasses. Normally, he’d have replied with a sarcastic comment, or a dry remark that secretly made me smile. But today? Silence.Sabine and Gianna tried to convince me he was just busy, some crisis with one of the subsidiaries, or maybe brooding over the Empire State Building like a modern-day Dracula but I had a nagging feeling. The kind that claws quietly at your spine unt

  • Contract Marriage With My Billionaire Boss    Chapter 94

AARONThe silence in the office was short-lived.Not even an hour after Ashford left, and I was still standing at the window, staring out over the skyline, trying to process what he’d just said.Sister.He said Venus was his sister. My wife—contractual or not—was the missing sibling of a powerful man I didn’t trust, didn’t like, and now had to consider family by extension.“Jesus,” I muttered, pressing my palm to the glass.Below, the city carried on: traffic weaving through stone arteries, people bustling with purpose, unaware that the axis of my world had just cracked.Connor hadn’t said much after Ashford left. He stood with arms crossed, face unreadable—but I knew that look. It was the one he wore before a hostile takeover. The one he kept when people lied straight to his face in court. Calculating. Cold. Focused.“You believe him?” I asked, finally.Connor’s gaze flicked to mine. “I believe he believes it. Whether it’s true or not... that’s what we’ll find out.”DNA. Proof.Ashf

AARONThe silence in my office was rare and for once, welcome. No ringing phones. No back-to-back meetings. No crisis clawing at my attention. Just the distant hum of New York City outside, muffled by the thick glass of the penthouse windows. The world below was alive, pulsing and urgent, but in here, for a breath of a moment, it felt like time had stopped.I leaned back in my chair, phone in hand, scrolling through messages I had already read twice, maybe three times. It was ridiculous. Obsessive. But I didn’t care. The last message from Venus sat like warmth in my palm, buzzing under my skin.VENUS: We’re going fabric hunting again. Gianna nearly committed murder in front of a cashmere wall. It was glorious. Also: I didn’t buy anything today. Aren’t you proud? 😌Not that she ever spends my money. I saw the card I gave her laying on my table.ME: That depends. Did you at least threaten to?VENUS: Sabine nearly tackled a vendor over gold thread. I did my part by eating three macaron

VENUSLondon was… golden. Not in a literal sense—not like Aaron’s penthouse at sunset or the warm gleam of the necklace I still hadn’t taken off—but in a way that settled in your bones. The kind of golden that made you exhale deeper. Softer. Like the world had finally eased its grip on your throat. We’d spent the last few days in a whirlwind: fabric warehouses, artisan showrooms, networking events so polished they practically glowed. Gianna called it “social climbing with sequins.” Sabine called it “war prep.”I called it magic.Because for once… I wasn’t surviving.I was living.Even with the ever-present security detail trailing behind us, I didn’t mind. For the first time, they didn’t feel like shackles. They felt like protection. Like someone, somewhere, cared enough to keep me safe.Sabine’s brand wasn’t just an idea anymore. It was becoming something tangible. Real. Every fitting, every carefully chosen textile, every private preview, it all brought her vision closer to life. An

AARONThe city hummed beneath me, but all I could hear was the noise in my own head. That wasn’t normal. My mind usually operated like a machine structured, strategic and silent. But lately? It felt like a battlefield. Logic at war with emotion. Control strangling instinct. And always... her. Venus. Like a whisper beneath my skin I couldn’t shut off.I leaned against the glass wall of my office, the skyline stretching wide, lit like temptation. Below, Manhattan pulsed with its usual rhythm: cyclists cutting through lanes, overworked suits gripping coffee, eyes on their next meeting. To anyone else, it was just another Monday morning. To me, it felt like the first move in a war I hadn’t declared yet.My phone buzzed.I turned back to my desk. The contracts. The board memos. The risk reports. All neatly stacked chaos. But somewhere in the middle of it all, something darker was creeping in. Quiet. Steady. Like rot under gold.I wasn’t the type to ignore red flags. But Caroline, Richard,
