SEBASTIAN

My blood was already boiling when I pulled into the driveway. The moment I saw Graham standing at the entrance with Ruby, I let out a low growl, my wolf stirring inside me.

What was he fucking doing here?

I was already fucking furious. The second Kiara called me earlier, telling me that my father had ordered Lizzy to stay in school, I knew something—or someone—had gotten to him. And when I arrived at the packhouse, I saw Doctor Sam just getting into his car.

I didn’t know what the hell Doctor Sam had said, but whatever it was, it made my father refuse to hear a damn word from me.

Not even my mother could sway him, and that pissed her off badly. I had never seen my father dismiss her like that before. It surprised me, making me wonder what kind of deal Doctor Sam had made with him.

He hadn't even let me speak before shutting his office door in my face.

I had stormed out of there in a rage. And now, coming home to find Doctor Sam’s son in my house?

With Ruby?

What was he fucki

RUBY “Hey,” she said, her voice slurred just enough to be obvious. “Wanna dance?”All three of us froze.Aiden blinked, clearly caught off guard.“Uh—”“No,” Cassie said instantly. Then shoved his shoulder. “Go. Dance.”He stared at her.“What?”“You’re allowed to have fun,” she insisted. “Go before she drags someone else.”Aiden hesitated and looked at me, silently asking permission.“It’s okay,” I said softly. “Really.”He let out a small, awkward laugh as the blonde grabbed his hand and tugged him away.“Okay. I’ll see you guys later.”Cassie and I watched them disappear into the crowd.“Wow,” I muttered. “She didn’t even wait for a yes.”Cassie giggled.“Bold. I respect it.”My eyes drifted instinctively across the party, searching for Sebastian. I couldn’t see him from here, but he’d said he’d be by the pool.“I’m going to find Seb,” I said. “He’s waiting for me.”Cassie grabbed my arm, stopping me mid-step.“Wait, don’t leave me alone.”I softened immediately.“You won’t be alo

RUBY "Hey, Ruby," he replied. His voice sounded rough—thick, like it hadn’t been used much today. Like he’d been carrying too many thoughts and not letting any of them out. He took a slow breath, his eyes lifting to my face before drifting down to my dress, then back up again.“You look…”He hesitated, shaking his head slightly, lips pressing together as if he was afraid to say the wrong thing.“You look really beautiful, Ruby.”I smiled anyway, even though it felt awkward and a little sad.“Thanks, Aiden. You clean up nice too.”He gave a small shrug, but his eyes stayed on me a second too long. The way he looked at me like he wished things were different. It made my chest hurt.I inhaled slowly, steadying myself.“You didn’t come to class today,” I said. “Cassie was trying to call you, but you weren’t picking up.”Aiden lifted his cup and took a slow sip, buying time. When he lowered it, his jaw tightened slightly.“I needed space,” he admitted. “And I didn’t think seeing you toda

RUBY The party was already in full swing by the time I started getting ready. From my bedroom upstairs, I could hear the thump of music vibrating through the walls of the house—loud and energetic, the kind that made you want to move even if you weren’t in the mood. Laughter and shouts drifted up from the side yard where everyone had gathered.“Seb’s gonna love it,” my wolf squeaked as I stood in front of the full-length mirror, checking out my dress. It was short, hugging my curves in all the right places, with cutouts on the sides that showed just enough skin to make me feel bold. Sexy, even. I wasn’t used to dressing like this, but tonight felt different. After everything that had happened today—the game, the timeout in the restroom, Sebastian’s words about us being mates—I wanted to feel good. I wanted him to look at me and see me. Really see me.I styled my hair in loose waves, letting it fall over my shoulders, and applied light makeup—just a touch of mascara, some blush, and ey

SEBASTIAN “Well, look who it is. The heroes of the hour.” Cassie's voice cut through the air.I looked up to see her and Ruby crossing the parking lot toward us. Ruby froze for half a second when she noticed Annalisa standing so close to me.“Seb! You were amazing!” Cassie shouted, pulling me into a quick hug.“Thanks, Cass,” I said, stepping back—half-expecting the same from Ruby. She avoided my gaze instead.Robert scoffed. “Amazing how you didn’t notice anyone else on the ice.”Cassie just rolled her eyes. “Amazing how I don’t care.”Ruby smiled brightly and gave Annalisa a polite, if cool, nod. “Hi, Annalisa. Congratulations, Sebastian.”“Thanks, Ruby,” I replied, my body itching to close the distance she was deliberately keeping between us.“It was a spectacular game, Ruby. You should be very proud of Sebastian,” Annalisa turned her attention back to me. I’m really looking forward to the World Record game. Sebastian and I used to talk about it all the time. It’s always been hi

SEBASTIAN The second period felt like I’d been slammed back into my own body after floating somewhere else entirely.I could still taste Ruby on my lips, lips—sweet, intoxicating—and her scent clung to my skin like a brand, thick and impossible to ignore. It should’ve shaken me. Should’ve messed with my head, thrown me off balance, sent my wolf spiraling into need. But it didn’t. Instead, it grounded me.My wolf wasn’t clawing at me anymore, wasn’t roaring for more, wasn’t tearing me apart from the inside out. He was calm. Sharp. Focused. For the first time in what felt like forever, we were on the same page with hunger to win.And somehow, that hunger bled into the rest of the team. Two minutes into the second period, the puck hit the back of the net.The roar was immediate, violent, shaking the arena to its foundations. Before Marie Hill could even recover, we did it again. And again. Each goal hit harder than the last, the noise building until it vibrated through my bones, throug

RUBYSebastian’s hands slid up my thighs, bunching the dress higher. He broke the kiss only long enough to yank the fabric over my head in one impatient motion.Cool air hit my skin, but then his mouth was on me again, trailing fire down my throat, my collarbone, the swell of my breasts above the lace of my bra.I threw my head back, a gasp tearing from my throat as his lips seared across my skin—until his fingers found my spine. He unhooked the clasp of my bra with a practiced flick. The straps slid down my arms, and he peeled it away like he couldn’t wait another second. My breasts spilled free, nipples tight and aching. A low, feral sound rumbled from his chest as he dipped his head. His tongue circled one tight bud, sucking hard enough to make my hips jerk for more friction. Pleasure shot straight to my core, pooling hot and liquid between my thighs. I threaded my fingers through his hair, yanking him closer, begging with every shudder. He switched to the other nipple, biting jus
