Chapter 6: Family Reunion

"But it's 4 o'clock and she, your twin said they'll have it at night" Cole said cautiously checking his wrist watch to check the time.

"Of course, we ain't goin' just yet, in the main time, I'm gonna head over to the kitchen and have my first decent meal of the day" Amy said sharply

"You haven't eaten yet?" Cole asked, a little bit surprised.

"Yeah?" Amy stared at him weirdly before concentratingvon the road.

"Well, it's not medically advisable for anyone to skip on meals, especially if you're gonna be pregnant, you have to look after yourself" Cole said absentminded

"Oh really, you stick your nose out of my business, it's my Job to worry about me and my future child, so fuck it" Amy said, her voice as hard as steel

"Oops sorry, didn't mean that way" Cole Shrugged.

"It's not appreciated" Amy gave off in her bitchy tone,

Cole shrugged again, having spent less than 24 hours with her, he was starting to get used to her bitchiness, and since she's upset, she's bound to bite off people's heads at the slightest mistake.

Cole glanced out of the window and enjoyed the view, if she doesn't want to talk, fine by him

"Get off my fucking car" Amy raised the pitch of her voice, jolting Cole out of his thoughts.

He stared at her with blank eyes, 

"What, you want me to get off in the middle of nowhere?" He asked studying her face.

"Look around Silly, it's not the middle of nowhere, this is Civilisation and unless you want me to lock you up in the car, get off right now, or you can just stay here and enjoy the view" Amy said angrily.

Cole glanced at his Surroundings, he realized they are in front of a place called Kitchen, Across from it is a Pizza place, some buildings were lined out down the street, he couldn't help but get curious,

"Well you could have simply told me we're here" he said lightly, freeing himself from his seat belt, 

"Tell me about it, you know how many times I tried to get your attention?, are you getting out?" 

"You're not really nice are you?" Cole asked as he got out of the car,not really expecting an answer.

"Well I don't waste my time on losers and you're one big loser" Amy grimanced, A loser her body reacts to crazily, A voice said in her head.

"Figures" Cole said as he waited for her to lock her car, Not that Lakefront isn't a save town but Amy does that out of habit.

"What's the Kitchen about anyways?" Cole asked as they walked along.

"See for yourself" Amy replied.

"Jeez thanks for being so Cold" Cole crossed himself,

"You're welcome" Amy rethroted, he found it hard to hold his laughter and he ended up laughing.

"Anything funny?" She stated at him with brows raised.

"I..." 

"Hey Amy What's up" A round teenager in a Blue shirt and red base ball cap called out in time to save Cole's butt.

"Clay is that you?, I'm fine, what are you doing here?" Her countenance changed in no time.

"Uhn, we're on a break so I figured I'll help moms around here" The Teenager smiled shyly.

"See you around then" Amy Said.

"Yeah I guess" Clay's eyes darted to Cole, perhaps expecting an introduction, obviously Amy wasn't ready to.

She pushed the double door open and entered, leaving Cole to hurry after her, luckily there was an empty table, infact there are lots of empty table at this hour of the day.

They haven't been seated for long when a round woman with a pretty face, who looked a lot like the boy they met outside, came to take their orders.

"Hey chick, what's with your face all tousled up in a frown?" The lady said as soon as she got to their table.

"Anika's been around lately?" She raised her brow slightly

"Lot more than you could imagine" Amy Sighed, perhaps remembering her encounter with her sister earlier.

"Figures, brighten up lassy, you're here now, away from her influence" the lady said rubbing Amy's shoulder

"There's a lot of tension on 'em, been carrying blocks around lately?, hell my fingers hurt" 

"Funny" Amy said and laughed, her first real laughter of the day.

"Seen my boy yet?" The lady asked.

"Yeah, outside before we came in"  Amy replied

"Ohh"

"Found something you want yet?" She asked gesturing at the Menu.

"Nothing special really, I'll just have the usuals" Amy smiled

"And the young fella?" She asked, including Cole in the Conversation for the first time.

"I'll take....."

"Make it the same as mine" Amy said hurriedly, truth is, she doesn't want her to talk to Cole, few words and she'll know what's going on, the less people that knows the better anyway.

The lady nodded and left them.

"Who's she?" Cole asked politely, he was burning to ask.

"Emily" Amy said shortly.

"She takes the orders herself?, I mean I presume she's the owner" Cole said carefully.

"Yeah, her waitress, Kinsey, that's the name, gave birth last week, so she's out of service for the time being"

"Why do you wanna know though?" Amy asked suspiciously, hoping he wasn't thinking of waiting table here to earn extra bucks, he's not that broke, is he?

"Just curious, thanks for telling" Cole smiled, Amy's heart stopped for seconds,

He looked so devastatingly handsome, with one Sided dimple, gosh.

Time tickled by before Emily came back with her orders.

"Here kids, nice and hot" Emily smiled, unknowingly breaking their Connection.

"The Coffee's on the house" She,said as she placed their food on the table.

"Thanks Emi" Amy smiled at the lady's retreating back

"Cheese Omelette plus ham and Coffee?" Cole stared at Amy wide eyed.

"Anything wrong with it?" Amy asked with a worried frown

"You're not Allergic to any, are you?"

"No I mean, it's exactly what I wanted, nice really" Cole hurried to say.

"Good, enjoy your meal"

He watched as she digged into her food, other ladies he knew, would have picked at their food, but she ate hungrily and gracefully, making Cole Jealous, he wish he could...

Cole's POV

A tall pale woman I suppose is Amy's mother, welcomed us when we got to her place, After Stopping to eat in the kitchen Earlier, Amy decided she'll go home and change her clothes, I figure she wanted to calm her nerves before facing her family, Arriving at her place reminded me of what happened between us earlier in the day, I think she remembered too, because she refused to look me in the eye when she told me to also change my clothes, She had...

"Amy you haven't introduced me to the young man" the pale Skinned woman said, her sweet high pitch voice Jolted me out of my thoughts.

"Uhn?" Amy seemed a little thrown off.

"Why go through the problem?, why don't you let me introduce him Mom?"
