Chapter 5 - My new married life

As I woke up that morning, the bright rays of sunlight greeted me, almost blinding my eyes. I couldn't quite tell if I had slept well or if I had remained awake until morning. The night had felt restless, leaving me with a sense of unease that lingered. "Oh, my God! What am I going to do? My life is ruined," I whispered to myself, tossing and turning in bed, overwhelmed by anxiety. The weight of uncertainty and fear seemed to bear down on me as I contemplated my next step.

The thought of explaining my sudden marriage to my boss, who was also my lover, and the few friends, I have managed to gain back at my old place made me even more frustrated. "I can't believe that on my first visit home in four years, I ended up getting married," I sighed, irritated with the situation. "Maybe if I talk to him, he'll let me travel out of London," I contemplated aloud, venting my frustrations to the empty room. There was no need to hold back; I needed to confront this madness head-on.

After freshening up, I selected a stylish pair of pants and a top from the closet and stepped out.

But as soon as I stepped out of the room, one of the maids greeted me. "Good morning, madam," she said respectfully.

I turned to the maid, recognizing her as Josie, the oldest maid in the mansion, "Good morning, Josie. You don't need to call me madam." I replied to her.

"I wish I could stop, but you're the boss's new wife, so..." Josie hesitated.

"So what?" I paused and faced her directly. "I don't feel like a madam, so just call me by my name," I instructed firmly and continued walking.

"Okay, but what about the other maids?" she questioned,

"What about them?" I replied still not stopping nor slowing down for her,

"What should they address you with?"

"Hmm!" I thought about it for a moment, Then, an unpleasant image of that idiotic maid Lisa flashed into my mind. "They can call me madam," I said with a smile, fully aware of the impact it would have on Lisa.

"Okay, Mira," Josie acknowledged.

I smiled in response and continued towards Lucian's room.

As I was about to knock, Josie approached me again. "Are you looking for Mr. Creed?" she asked.

I turned to her, exasperated. "No... I'm looking for his dead father," I snapped sarcastically. "Of course, I'm looking for him. What else would I be doing here?"

"Sorry about that," Josie apologized. "But the boss is not around right now; he went on a business trip."

"What? Since when?" I asked, shocked by the news.

"Since last night, Ma!" she replied.

"What the... Why wasn't I informed? Who goes on a business trip right after getting married?" I questioned, my frustration escalating.

"Well..." Josie hesitated.

"That son of a bitch," I muttered angrily, storming downstairs. Josie followed, calling out to me, but I was too pissed off to even hear or listen to her, and I vented my frustration, "So he can still go on a trip while I'm stuck here?"

Mary appeared behind Josie, intrigued by the commotion. "What's going on?" she asked.

"Someone woke up from the wrong side of the bed," Lisa chimed in, smirking before Josie could respond.

I halted and turned to Lisa. "Don't you dare mess with me right now," I warned her sharply. "You won't like the consequences."

"Watch your mouth, Lisa," Josie cautioned, joining me. The other maids followed suit.

Arriving in the grand sitting area, I scanned the room, only to find it empty.

Frowning, not just because the emptiness pissed me off but--- I turned angrily as I questioned the line of maids trailing behind me. "Is there any particular reason all of you are following me?"

"Well..." Mary began, exchanging glances with Josie, who then turned to me.

"I thought you wanted us to," Josie responded, slightly unsure.

"Why the hell would I want you all to follow me around?" I retorted.

"Because you're the boss's wife," she said with a smile.

"You make it sound like that's a reasonable excuse," I snarled, Letting out a sigh, I expressed my dissatisfaction. "Well, I'm sure there are plenty of other women in another dimension who would relish being referred to as that thing's wife. However, I am not one of them, and I certainly don't want an entourage following my every move." With frustration evident in my voice, I plopped down on the sofa with a loud thud. "Damn that jerk," I muttered under my breath.

Mary, attempting to ease the tension, offered, "Shall we prepare something for you to eat?"

"No, but thank you for offering," I declined. "If I'm hungry, I know where the kitchen is." With that, I redirected my attention to the phone in my hand.

Josie took the initiative to lead the other maids back upstairs.

Lisa, perplexed by Mira's' behavior, couldn't help but voice her confusion.

"What's wrong with her? This is the first time I've seen a woman so angry after marrying someone," she remarked.

"I'm wondering the same thing," Mary agreed, turning to Josie for insight.

Josie sighed, feeling drained. "Don't even bother asking me. I don't have the energy to argue with anyone anymore," she explained as they made their way to the kitchen.

As I scrolled through my social network feeds, numerous messages from friends and my boss caught my attention.

I pondered how I would break the news of this sudden negative turn in my life to my loved ones. "This is disastrous," I mused to myself, feeling the weight of the situation bearing down on me. "Hey boss, can we put the promotion on hold? I just got married--Ah! what do - where do I even begin?" My mind raced with thoughts, and the fear of how this might also mean an end to my existing relationship added to my distress.

To make matters worse, it wasn't even a real marriage but a fake one, and the reality of the situation hit me hard. I lamented the tangled mess I found myself in and couldn't help but vent my frustration by wreaking havoc in the sitting room, accompanied by a stream of curses directed at Lucian.

The room seemed to echo my anger and disappointment as I tried to come to terms with the complexities of my circumstances.

Lisa, appearing out of nowhere, questioned my actions. "What are you doing?" she inquired, observing the chaos.

"What does it look like I'm doing?" I responded with a question, my anger palpable. "I'm infuriated right now, and I need to release my anger, alright?" Calm down girl-- this isn't you.' a voice in my head rang, but That's the problem, I couldn't calm down, not with all these emotional running wide. I just need to break something or someone!

Sighing, she straightened the overturned table. "You do realize that you're creating a lot of work for us," she pointed out.

"Oh, great. I was starting to wonder what purpose your presence served," I retorted, continuing to damage the chairs.

"That's enough," she firmly declared, reaching out to grab my hands.

I slapped her hand away and turned to face her. "You know, ever since I was informed about this whole marriage thing, I've been simmering with anger. And now, I want to let it all out," I said, forcing a smile.

"Bring it on bitch. I can't wait to wipe that smile off your face," Lisa challenged, grinning. "You rich bitches always get on my nerves."

"The first mistake you made was categorizing me as one of those wealthy bitches you've encountered," I replied confidently, stepping toward her. Before she could react, I swiftly threw her to the ground, landing my palm and fist on her face. "Next time you see me in a foul mood, run the other way," I warned, slapping her one final time as she cried out for help.

While I continued to slap her swollen face, I could vaguely hear footsteps and people shouting in the background, but I was too consumed by anger to pay attention.

"What the--" Ken gasped as he witnessed the chaos in the house, realizing the significance of installing cameras, an idea previously dismissed as childish.

Meanwhile, Lucian, engrossed in his work, asked, "So, are the cameras functioning?"

Startled, Ken was momentarily distracted. "What?" he stammered, caught off guard.

Lucian lifted his head from the documents, curious about the camera system. "I asked if there were any issues with the cameras installed in the mansion."

Frantically hiding the tablet behind his back, Ken quickly responded with a lie. "Oh... I haven't checked yet," he replied, hoping to conceal the distressing scene he had just witnessed.

"No?" Lucian inquired, raising an eyebrow.

"No, sir," Ken confirmed, maintaining the facade.

Lucian settled back into the sofa, disregarding his work momentarily.

He knew Ken was lying, and that meant something had gone wrong. "If you say so..." Lucian remarked, observing Ken intently. "But why is the tablet behind your back instead of on my desk?" he probed further, catching Ken off guard.

Shocked by the sudden inquiry, Ken's mind raced for a plausible explanation.
