Damien POV

Well, they were two truths and a lie.

So far, I have been responsible. So far, I had been discreet enough not to get caught.

Since my father's death, I have always tried to appear responsible for my mother and the rest of the family. They needed to be impressed if I was looking to capture their hearts.

In truth, I hadn't been responsible one bit. I had only acted that way, so I could get into everyone's good books. I had completely erased my presence from clubs, but that didn't mean that I had stopped partying.

The family house had been a confinement. That's why I moved out to a house of mine as soon as I had gotten married to have my privacy.

Yea, I am married. But that doesn't mean that the fun I used to have as a bachelor became limited. More on that later.

Under my wife's nose I still carried on with my frivolous lifestyle. While she was out at work, I would be back home with strippers and Lyon partying and turning the house into our private clubhouse.

There was always enough liquor to go around, naked women to grope and have fun with. The day was ours to plunder, and we didn't hesitate. We had the house to ourselves.

“I do not have a child on the way, man. I just found out that Sarah is not fertile.” Lyon almost spat the wine out of his mouth.

Well, how did I end up with a wife and a barren one for that matter? Well, I only have the answer to the first part of the above question. For the second one, I'm clueless.

I met Sarah at a conference at work. She had been one of my father's closest workers, just a secretary at the time. Still on my phase of youthful vigor, I had no intention of settling down.

What changed my mind was my father's condition. I didn't love Sarah but I pretended to. It started out as a fling. I used her to gain information I needed about my father, then it eloped into what it currently was, a marriage which was on its way to crumbles as soon as i found out that she could not biologically bear me a son.

Little about my wife. She was from a background with status. Hence, the reason why my family had accepted her without hesitation. Despite my mother's advice, I had moved her out to a mansion of my own to avoid my every move being monitored.

“What the hell do you mean? Didn't you do any tests before you two were married?”

“I didn't. My mother had done all of that. I barely gave a heed.” I resumed my pacing. It still drives me crazy when I realize how deep in trouble I was. “All I needed from her was a girl who would turn a blind eye to whatever I was doing and bear me a child, so I could take over my father's company. I don't get why the universe is so cruel to me.”

“You could divorce her and get someone else just in time to bear you a son.”

I snorted. “Divorce? It seems you have forgotten how traditional my family is. They won't even entertain the idea of me getting another woman. Besides, my intentions would be too obvious if I made such a move.”

“That does not sound like much of trouble to me,” Lyon said, after a minute or two deep in thought. “It seems to me like you could just get a child to adopt…”

“Never! I went to see a doctor, and he said that there was a way to get her pregnant again. Some medical procedures like that.*

Lyon sighed. “Next time make sure you lead with that. You had me so worried that there was no solution to the matter.”

“I'm just scared if it will work, that's all,” I confessed. “Even the doctors had explained that this was a fifty-fifty chance procedure.”

“What about Sarah? How does she feel about all this?”

“I don't know, as we never really talked about it. She had agreed without coercion, so that must have meant that she was okay with it.”

I needed a drink, so I went to the mini bar and grabbed another, this time filling my glass to the brim. I kept the cold liquid flowing down my throat in chunks of gulps. Before you could say Jacqueline, I was placing an empty glass on the table.

What would people say?

They would mock me if things fell out of hand. If there was no progress in the end, I would be the laughingstock. I wish I could go back and stop this from going as south as it had already gone.

Truth be told, I cared less about what people thought and more about how William would look at me.

Yes William. My elder brother always felt that he was smarter than me, better than me. He always bossed me around like a child up to this day. Like I was going to do something wrong. I mean, I messed up on a lot of occasions, but that was beside the point.

Even in day to day life, he sat over affairs of the family. If he even valued anyone's opinions, mine always seemed to irritate him. I just wasn't good enough.

I always had to put up with him always trying to put me in his shadow. It was evident in the way he handled matters in the company, always keeping me out of important meetings and other gatherings I thought I deserved to attend. I could confidently say that he was trying to kick me out.

He had done it before. He had trashed me, sent me to the worst place possible. And since then, I have vowed not to give him that edge anymore. While in the depths of my dark cell, I had vowed to make sure he paid for disgracing me.

Now I had just heard that he had gotten a wife and

son. He was trying to outsmart me at my own game. How cunning! He had better step out of my way or, I would ruin his life just like he had done to mine.

CHAPTER FIFTY-THREEDamien’s POVI love when I set out to do one evil deed and a free opportunity to do more presents itself. I came today with no plan; all I wanted was to disturb Will’s peace a little, remind him I am still alive, and maybe remind Aria that she said she would help me inherit the company. But then heaven blessed me, and I found August outside. The boy had run to me, calling me daddy. I watched in amusement as he hugged my legs, giggling, then looked up and frowned.“You are not my daddy,” he said, puzzled.“No, I am not,” I replied with a sly smile.August giggled again. “But you look so much like him. I thought you were him.”“No,” I said, shaking my head. “But,” I continued “We are brothers.”I was amused that Lily’s son called Will's father. Lily sure knows how to make people take responsibility for things they did and did not do, just like she made me pay for... our incident. Now, she has Will playing daddy for August and her so-called unborn child, whom we are

CHAPTER FIFTY-TWOLily’s POVWill and I had successfully avoided work for an entire week, and Aria had been planning creative ways to kill me. But with Will always on my mind, I found it hard to care. Will thought I didn’t know what he was doing when he ‘accidentally’ locked my room door and lost the key, or when the maid ‘mistakenly’ dropped my laundry in his room. I didn’t say anything about it. I liked it. I liked to pretend I wanted my room, but if Will ever asked me to go to my room, I would die. Literally, I would fall and die.It was 10:32 AM on a Sunday, and August was free today. Will had his therapy session canceled so we could all go out as a family.I gently disentangled myself from Will’s body and quietly climbed down from the bed. I threw on one of Will’s shirts because I was too lazy to go to my room or find my clothes in his second drawer.Tying my hair into a messy bun, I walked out of the room to spend a little time with August alone, something that was hardly possib

CHAPTER FIFTY-ONEWill’s POVI don’t blame Aria for hating Lily. She is right. Lily is good for me.Should I be dressed and ready to go to work? Yes.Do I need to go to work? Yes.Am I dressed and ready to go to work? No.Will I go? Hell no!I had called Toby again to tell him I wasn't going to make it to work. My excuse? I’m sick. Was I sick? No, but I would be if I didn’t taste Lily one more time. Lily had excused herself to go back to her room to get dressed. I’ll have to get her things brought here, or if she likes her room so much, I can move to it. It doesn’t matter, but all this separate room nonsense is not going to work.“You’re not dressed?” Lily asked, barging into my room to pick up clothes she left in my bedroom.“No,” I said, grinning.“What?” She asked, stopping to look at me. “Why are you staring at me like that?”“I like the way you entered my room like it’s yours.”Nothing can replace the pleasure of seeing Lily blush as she quickly disappeared into the bathroom to p

CHAPTER FIFTYLily POVIt was Monday morning, and I woke up to small kisses being trailed along my neck. I groaned and sank deeper into the feel of Will.It is Monday morning and after what could only be described as the best weekend in history, I do not want to wake up let alone go to work.“Open your eyes, Lily,” Will growled. “I know you are awake.”I did not open my eyes. I did not want to open my eyes. Maybe if I keep my eyes closed long enough, I would be able to keep him here in bed with me throughout the day.“Can we not just stay?” I groaned.“Of course we can, we can stay as long as you want but that would only give Aria more reasons to hate you and make the papara—Will didn’t get any other words out as I brought my lips to his kissing him gently. Will sighed into the kiss and wrapped his arms around my back and my neck drawing me deeper in. God, I’d missed this—it had only been hours, but I missed it already. I missed feeling like we were both going to lose it if we did no

Damien’s POV“You foolish man, I thought getting drunk was my thing,” Lyon said. He had been scolding me and telling me things I did not care for.He is right though, getting excessively drunk is his thing, not mine. He was leading me to the car so we could go home I suppose.“I do not want to go home.” I slur.“I am sure. Your wife will kill you if you go home like this.” Lyon said and laughed loudly. “I thought you said you were a changed man? Change my ass man.”“Oh shut the fuck up.”Lyon laughed again and retrieved the car key from my pocket.“shit.” He cursed. “You have to stand on your own, wait while I go get the key, I think you left it on the table we used.”Immediately Lyon left me I fell flat on my butt drawing unwanted attention and Lyon's unwarranted laugh. He left me there struggling with no success to get back on my feet. He came back a minute later with the key. “Remind me to never let you drink this much ever again,” he said helping me into the car.“Fuckkk-you,” I sa

Lily's POVOne day, I would rip out my heart and throw it away. It had made it its life mission to always embarrass me when it came to William Carter. I couldn't even pretend to act cool and composed around him, especially when I was this close to him. The only thing giving me comfort was the fact that our heartbeats were synchronized, and I could hear his heart too.He was sniffing my neck, nuzzling his nose against it, and gently running his hand from my neck to my waist consistently. I wondered why. Before, when he was just a client, he would quickly go straight to the point. He made sure I was comfortable first, yes, but there was hardly any cuddling or sniffing.“You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do this,” he said.“Sniff me?” I had long ditched the thought that I would have any composure or class when it came to Will. My voice sounded like I was struggling to breathe, let alone talk, and that couldn’t be closer to the truth. Will chuckled. His voice was low, lower than us
