Maya’s POV
I was enjoying my sleep, tossing and turning as I enjoyed the feel of a soft and comfortable bed, unlike the one that I had back at home.
Suddenly, I heard the sound of the dirt opening and getting against the wall. Waking from my sleep, I starting wondering who it could be.
Before I could form words or even speak up, I felt hands tightly pressing against my throat, cutting off my breath.
I looked up and saw that it was Sarah and she had an evil look in her eyes. I struggled against her, trying to pry her hands away from my neck.
It felt like an eternity as I struggled against her while she kept on trying to strangle the life out of me. I started feeling dizzy and slowly losing my consciousness, I kept fighting for air and tears started to fall down my face.
As I kept on struggling against her, Anna burst into the room with wide eyes as she watched the scene unfolding in front of her. Hurrying quickly to me, she pulled Sarah away from me, putting an end to my breathlessness.
Breathing heavily, I watched as Sarah’s twisted expression contorted with anger and frustration. With a chilling promise, she hissed, “You’re not going to be lucky next time,” before turning on her heel and storming out of the room. I shuddered at her threat, realizing the danger I had just narrowly escaped.
Anna, sensing my distress, rushed to my side, offering me comfort. “Miss Maya, are you okay? Hope you’re not hurt?”
I shook my head, still trying to catch my breath but I couldn’t find my words.
“I’m so sorry that I didn’t come sooner,” she apologized again, her voice filled with sincerity.
“I’m fine, Anna,” I croaked out, trying to reassure her. “You came in at the right time. Thank you.”
“Miss Maya, please and please, lock your door every night so such won’t occur again, that was terrifying,” she urged, and I nodded agreeing to do so.
She led me to the bathroom to freshen up, “Mr. Williams had asked me to come tell you to join him for breakfast, that’s why I came, I had no idea I’d walk into Sarah trying to kill you,” she said.
“It’s fine Anna, I didn’t expect to be strangled in my sleep too, I’d be more careful now,” I said, “but the issue is she was allocated as my maid, which puts me in more danger because I’d be dealing directly with her,” I added.
“What if you tell Mr. Williams and have him change her?” Anna suggested.
I thought about it for a while and replied “I doubt he’d believe me, but I will try my best,” Anna nodded, leaving me to freshen up.
I slowly got up from the bed and walked to the bathroom, the event from earlier replaying in my head as I turned on the shower. I waited for the water to get warmer before getting under it.
I washed my body slowly and carefully, trying to wash away all my fears and the feeling of Sarah’s hand on my body. I felt the urge to cry but I held myself back, I wasn’t going to allow something so little to break me. I was sure there was more to come and a weak cry baby wouldn’t be strong enough to face it all.
Wiping the tears away and rinsing the soap off my body, I turned off the shower and wrapped myself in a towel that was in the bathroom.
The towel was soft and I almost moaned from how silky it felt against my skin. I dried myself off before walking into the room where I saw the clothes Anna had picked out for me.
With her thoughtful selection in mind even with having faded clothes, I slipped into a comfortable outfit, feeling a sense of gratitude for her always being here.
As I dressed, Anna stood by with a warm smile, “you look so beautiful, Miss Maya,” she said. I smiled at her thanking her.
“Thank you.”
Once dressed, I took a moment to look at myself in the mirror, the reflection staring back at me looked tired but also exuded a quiet strength and resilience. Once I was composed, Anna led me to the dining area where Alexander was already waiting.
I sat down from breakfast, my body still trembling from the event of that morning. Of Anna hadn’t come in at the right time, Sarah would’ve been successful and I would be dead by now.
“Alexander,” I called, my voice small as I found the confidence to speak to him. “I… I ha- have some- something to say.”
He raised his head from the documents he was going through, his eyes cold and blank. “What if it?”
I turned to look at Anna and she silently urged me on, letting out a small sigh before I spoke up and told him everything that had happened from the moment I got into the house up until that morning.
He listened intently, his face blank and I prayed that he would do something about it or even reassure me.
After I was done speaking, he dropped the documents by the side, leaned forward and looked me dead in the eyes. “I don’t believe anything coming out of your mouth,” he spoke up, his voice cold and detached. “You must have misunderstood it for something else. No one, and I mean no one would dare do such a thing under my roof.”
My heart fell as I took in his words, was it because she was his mistress that he refused to believe me?
I tired to speak to again and explain things better to him but, he waved me off, dismissing me immediately.
“We have more important matters to attend to,” he said, his tone final. “Let’s focus on the day ahead.”
Defeated, I nodded silently, pushing down the feeling of anger that churned with me.
From the corner of my eyes, I could see Sarah smirking before she walked away.
I sat there and barely touched my food, after a few minutes of silence, he spoke up, breaking the silence.
“We need to go shopping,” he announced, his voice filled with neither warmth nor any emotion.
Confusion clouded my thoughts as I struggled to process his words. “Shopping? For what?”
“What else do they go shopping for?” He asked sarcastically, sounding like he was bored of talking to me. “You need better outfits than the disgusting one you’re putting on. You’re my wife to be and you must look the path.”
Wife to be, the words echoed in my head and I stared at him blankly, it had so much to it, so much that I wasn’t ready to accept.
“But... I- I never agreed-“ I started, my voice cracking.
“I don’t need your approval,” he interrupted me, his tone leaving no room for argument. “Now, go get ready. We leave in an hour.”
“Okay,” I whispered, gritting my teeth at him angrily. “I’ll go get ready now.”
My stomach was in knots and I let out a breath to calm myself before I got up and quickly walked back to my room.
When I got into my room, I rested my had against the door, feeling anger course through my body as I remembered how he hadn’t believed me and had dismissed me. Why get married to me or even live with me if he wasn’t ever going to believe my words.
I tried to calm myself down and walked to pick out a cloth that was at least good enough to be worn out with the almighty mafia lord. Finding the perfect dress, I let out a small breath and changed into it. I let my hair down and put on my shoes before reminding myself that my life was different now and I shouldn’t allow Alexander get to me.
I walked out of my room and out the house where Alexander was waiting in the car. Realizing I would be alone with him again, I took in a deep breath before I steeled myself and got into the car.
He didn’t bother acknowledging me and the tension in the car was as thick as always. The car was silent, save from the sound of the engine as the driver drove, I turned to look out the window and focus on anything other than the person sitting beside me.
Suddenly, I felt a hand trailing up my thigh and a shiver ran down my spine. I felt both a mixture of pleasure and disbelief as I turned to look at Alexander’s hand on my thigh.
I couldn’t talk, nor could I look at him but I still didn’t understand why he was touching me or what was going through his mind.
How dare he touch me after he made me feel lesser than myself? I get anger wash over me and gathering courage, I finally turned to look at him.
“Wh- what are y- you doing?” I asked, my voice low and shaky.
“I own you,” he simply replied, his voice filled with the coldness that I could see on his face. “And I can do anything I want to do with you.”
His words hit me hard like a punch to the gut, leaving me more angry and fearful. How could he say he owned me? Was I some sort of property to be owned?
I was drawn out of my thoughts as his hands trailed higher, slowly making its way to my pussy, I tried holding back a moan as one finger grazed me slightly feeling my wetness down there.
I shivered with pleasure and kept trying to hold back my moan as he dipped one finger inside me, then he repeated the action eliciting a moan I couldn’t hold back but almost immediately he removed his hand from my body leaving a fire burning inside me who wanted more.
“Your mouth says one thing, but your body says otherwise,” he said, laughing loudly. “Follow me inside.”
With that, he got out of the car and heat creeped up my cheeks, embarrassment washing over me as I realized what had just happened. I couldn’t wrap my mind around how my body wanted more even my mind was against it.
I didn’t even know we had gotten to our destination. I let out a deep breath, collecting myself before I alighted the car, silently promising myself not to react to him or his touch ever again.
Maya’s POVThe evening had already taken an overwhelming turn, but as I stood beside Alexander, the real weight of my position started sinking in. His mother held the mic, her eyes alight with pride, her voice carrying that warm tone that usually makes people feel like family. We were talking before she had excused herself and walked to the middle of the room. “Ladies and gentlemen, Alexander has something special he’d like to share with you all.” Her words rippled through the crowd, and suddenly, every face turned toward us. Alexander stepped forward, his hand resting firmly on my back, and I felt an odd mix of pride and nervousness as I realized what he was about to do. “Tonight,” he announced, his voice carrying an authority that made the room fall silent, “I want to introduce you to my fiancée, my future wife, and our Mafia Queen-to-be, Maya.” As he took my hand and guided me to stand beside him, my pulse raced. Applause erupted around us, and I forced a polite smile, knowing t
Alexander’s POVI stood in the living room, adjusting my cuff links and inhaling deeply as I braced myself for the evening ahead because I would be introducing Maya as my wife to be. I turned around and there she was at the edge of the stairs.I was thrown off by how beautiful and captivating Maya appeared in the dress she was wearing. I had felt the same way earlier when we were shopping but I had just put it off but now looking at her look so… I don’t even know was just overwhelming. She looked elegant but at the same time alluring and eatable and for reasons I could not fathom, I was bothered by how beautiful she looked and how she was making me feel all sort of things. I had drawn back from kissing her when I had gone to tell her about the dinner we were attending tonight. It had been so hard to pull myself away from her but I had to stay focused and keep my distance from her. She walked to where I was and I held her hand and led her out to the car that was waiting for her so we
Maya’s POVDisappointment washed over me as Alexander pulled away, his smirk evident in the curve of his lips. I had hoped for a different outcome, but his teasing chuckle only served to deepen my sense of dejection.“What were you expecting?” He asked, his tone teasing as he let out a small laugh. I turned red with embarrassment and I loved away from him, struggling to find the proper words to say to him. “I… no- I wasn’t expecting anything,” I stuttered. Before I could think of anything else to say, he moved closer to me, raised his hand and brushed the stray starves of my hair away from my face before tucking it behind my ear. His touch was gentle and tingles spread across my body. I couldn’t help but feel a flicker of hop reignite within me at his tender gesture.“You look very beautiful, Maya,” he said. I was surprised by his compliment and my eyes widened as a blush crept up my cheek.I tried to find what to say to him or even compliment him, but my brain wasn’t working. “Tha
Maya’s POVAs I settled into the chair, the stylists got to work, their nimble fingers skillfully weaving through my hair as they began to style it. While one person was coming out the knots from my hair, the other was hearing up the curler and curling my hair into loose waves. The makeup artists were also working at the same time, applying what looked like foundation and primer into my face, dabbing it into my skin until when it perfect early sat on it. They moved to my eyelids, telling me to close my eyes before lining them and putting eyeshadow on it. I opened my eyes and they coated my eyelashes with mascara, making them look longer and fuller than they naturally were, they put some blush on my face, highlighting my cheeks and giving a gentle glow. As each of them worked on every part of my head, I couldn’t help but feel nervous because I didn’t know what to expect. Each stroke of their brush and dab of makeup on my face was a step closer to making me look amazing. I looked at
Maya’s POVAlexander walked into the room and I couldn’t help but feel nervous as well as wonder why he suddenly came to my room. His presence was enlightening to command respect and the room grew thick with tension. “Maya,” he started, turning to face me and I found myself unable to look away from him as he continued. “There’s an important event happening tomorrow. It’s a dinner party to celebrate my mother’s birthday and we’ll be attending it together. There, I will introduce you to everyone as me fiancée.”My heart fluttered and knots formed in my throat as I stared at him in dumb founded. “Your fiancée?” I repeated, my voice barely above a whisper, I had forgotten what I was to him.Alexander nodded, his expression serious. “Yes, and not just that,” he continued, his tone brooking no argument. “You will also be introduced as the future queen of our organization- the mafia queen to be.”I felt a surge of disbelief was over me at his revelation, the weight of his words settling hea
Maya’s POVWe finally got back to the mansion after what felt like hours and I stared at the house in appreciation. I still hadn’t gotten used to how magnificent the mansion looked. It was like a view out of the books and the soft glow of the sun setting bathed the building and as much as I’d hate to admit it, I loved living in somewhere as beautiful as this. As I stepped out of the car, the staffs quickly moved to unload the shopping bags, their efficiency a stark contrast to the nervousness that I was feeling and I couldn’t seem to understand why I was feeling nervous. I offered them a polite thank you before turning my attention to Alexander, who had already begun to make his way towards the entrance.“Wait,” I called out, hurrying to catch up to him. “Thank you for today, once again. I really appreciate.”Alexander turned to me, his expression unreadable as he regarded me for a moment. “It was nothing,” he replied curtly, his tone distant. But I felt a glimmer of hope because at
