Alexander’s POV

We got into the car and we sat down in silence, I brought out my phone from my pocket and kept my eyes on it to distract me, out of the corner of my eyes, I could see how Maya was playing with her fingers and her nails were pinching into her skin roughly but it was not enough to draw blood.

I had noticed that it was something she always did whenever she was nervous or tense because I had seen her do it a lot of time in the small amount of time we had spent together in the same space, it was small but enough to be noticed by me.

Her discomfort radiated off her in waves, filling the car with a tension I found oddly satisfying. The dark side of me enjoyed seeing her in turmoil and how she was squirming in her seat.
