Olivia

The following morning came fast and furious, as I was awakened by a knock at the door.

The previous night, I had stayed awake for the most part of the night, waiting for Leonardo to come back into my room, but nothing happened, until sleep took over in the early hours of the morning.

Now there was a knock at the door, I sat still hoping that whoever it was, would assume I was sleeping and go away.

But the door opened and Rosa came into the room holding a tray of food. She looked around the room with a mixed expression on her face at the shattered pieces of glass but she said nothing.

“Rosa, I'm so happy to see you.” I said, getting off the bed and walking towards her, I felt a sense of relief flood over me in her presence.

“It's good to see you miss.” Rosa was kind but a bit reserved compared to her usual self. It was as though she wanted to go about her business as quietly as she could.

I didn't know what to say so I walked to the door, hoping to catch up with her. Anyt

  • Contracted to the Mafia Boss Leonardo De Luca   Chapter 41 Being Shirtless

Olivia I woke up from the most wonderful sleep I had experienced in a long time. Rosa was by my bed, arranging the light blanket on my body. “You awake.” She said “Yes. I hope I haven’t slept for long.” “No, it’s only been a few hours,” she looked at her watch apolitically. “I’m knocking off soon, was there anything you needed before I left?” she smiled, having her around was the most underestimated blessing I had. “No, thank you Rosa I’ll see you tomorrow.” “The sun has just set, you can put on some comfortable shoes and go for a walk outside in the garden, and it will be good for you and the baby.” Yes, there was that new feature in my life. A lingering threat. I felt like I had just moved from a frying pan and straight into the fire with this pregnancy. I wondered how Leonardo took the news. “Leonardo is very excited about the baby,” Rosa said as if reading my thoughts. “But he still won’t talk to me.” I felt hot tears come up, although I thought I had cried myself dr

Leonardo The veins on my temple began to throb and I could already feel a headache coming on. I wouldn't be standing where I was had it not been for Rosa’s persistent bullying that I should come talk to her. Rosa still had a soft spot for this snake, despite everything she had done and was still capable of doing the longer she stayed here. Rosa had been with the family long enough to understand what loyalty meant in our world but regardless of that, she thought she had found a living saint in Olivia. “Please.” came Olivia's voice, dragging me back into the present with her. I cast a glance at her shivering frame on the bed, unable to drag myself to be by her side but unable to walk away at the same time. “I can explain.” She said, desperate to hold onto her lies. “Amuse me.” I said, my voice coming out rougher than I intended it to be. She looked taken aback by my response, good. “You said you can explain, I'm giving you the opportunity to do so. I'm listening or I c

Olivia Later that evening when the chef put food on the table. I went over Cici's plan, hating myself that I was even considering it. It was flawed and dangerous at best but it was the only one on the table. Leonardo walked in, brow furrowed and jaw tight. It was as though a switch had been flipped. He was a totally different man from the one I saw in the morning. “Rosa still hasn't shown up.” He said when he saw the chef walking back towards the kitchen. “I'm sure she will call.” He nodded, taking his seat at the head of the table. “I'll send someone to go check on her.” That was thoughtful of him. Cici waltzed in, he gave Leonardo a tight nod which he acknowledged before he dug into the food. The meal was tense until Cici broke the silence. “Did Christopher find anything?” He asked, his gaze locking with mine. I noticed Leonardo's grip on his fork tighten at the mention of Christopher. “Business later.” He said, the anger no longer simmering beneath the surface.

Olivia When Leonardo woke me up, I couldn't help but panic. I wondered if he already knew about my latest fuck up. But the man only wanted us to watch the sunrise together, no one would believe that Leonardo could be that kind of a man. If anyone had told me about this version of him, I would have laughed in their face. I wasn't laughing as I laid my head against his chest so I wouldn't be able to look at his face and see all his emotions on full display and be reminded of what I had done. Leonardo was the most powerful person I knew in the city, his power was not loud and flashy, but it was subtle, for an outsider like me, I hadn't even known that people like him existed until I had come into the fold. Now I had betrayed him, not only once but twice over and he didn't have a single clue about it. I felt bad for judging my father when he borrowed money from the wrong crowd and dragging me into this but looking at my choices, I was just as bad if not worse. Because anyone w

Leonardo I sat watching the smoke from the cigar twirling to the air and disappearing into nothing. Everything was going south and after fruitless meetings at the house, I was meeting Stanley at the club. Someone had it in for me and in every turn I took, they were ahead of me. It seems like I was chasing a ghost. Stanley walked in looking prim and proper and sat down on the velvet couch before he took out an envelope from his pocket. “Is everything here?” I asked him as he placed it down on the coffee table before us. “Yes boss, he assured me everything was in there.” He laid back on the couch. I looked at the envelope, all my answers laid in that small envelope or the answers I thought I needed. “Nikolai should be here any minute now.” I said, putting out my cigar on the ashtray. “Nikolai is coming?” he asked, and I looked at him a little longer before I nodded my head, everyone was a suspect until proven innocent. It was only a matter of time before my mom was on my case
