Athena’s POV

The pack has been calm since the arrest of Paige and Hudson; or maybe my life just got a lot more peaceful and I could finally breathe.

For the first time in a long time, I slept well. I woke up without panic in my chest. I didn’t look over my shoulder every time I walked down the hall and that was good but I still had one problem and that was Travis.

He was my husband but lately, he felt so far away now. He barely talked to me unless it was something short or simple. He left early most days, came back late, and when he was around… he just wasn’t with me.

He wasn’t angry or cold. He just seemed distracted, like his mind was somewhere else and I knew it was the pack but I had seen him with Chloe more than once and it shouldn't have bothered me but it did and I hated that it did.

I shook the thoughts off that morning as I tied my shoelaces. I had to go train and I didn’t want to feel heavy or slow because of my thoughts.
