Maelis POV

“She is not ‘keeping your company,’ Varrick. This lady here is my responsibility, and I suggest you remove yourself from my path right now!” he growled, his voice blending with his wolf and a burst of his Alpha aura swept the room instantly, and I could swear I saw Varrick take a step back.

“And what if I don't step out of your way?” Varrick, who seemed to recover from the force instantly, challenged with a sneer, his brown eyes turning dark.

Lucian's gaze hardened as he took a step forward. His figure, although only a head taller than Varrick, felt like he was standing over him as he said,

“For your own sake, you're going to step away from my path and I'm going to walk out of here with her. Unless you're looking into finding out how ruthless I can be.”
