Solara’s pov

“Alvin….?” My voice came out smaller than I thought. My eyes were heavy from not sleeping, but I’m sure I could see right.

His lips curved up for a little smile.

“What are you doing here?” I asked. I pressed my lips in a thin line. “I mean.. how long have you been here?” I know he drove me down here, but I had no idea he was out here.

“Are you ok Lara..?” He asked, his eyes filled with concern. I didn’t know why I did it, but instead I hugged him. Maybe I needed a hug, and I definitely appreciate him for being here for me.

He lets me hold on to him and he pat my head gently. A sob escapes me.

“Thank you Alvin.” My gaze fixed on him as the words came out softly from my mouth.

He just sent me a small smile. “Do you need anything?” He asked me.

I nodded.

“I was going to grab a cup of coffee." I told him. I know I should at least tell him who I’m here for… but it’s just complicated explaining how my dad is lying in a hospital because he was too drunk, and fell from a
