Lucas pov

“Why aren’t you listening to me?” She let out a heavy sigh, but I already have my mind made up. I walked back to my desk and took a seat.

“You have to go down there Lucas.” She walked right behind me. “He is going to take everything away from you if he shows himself everywhere without you.” She has made her point, but I don’t see it that way.

“You don’t have to worry mom, I'll take care of it.” My mother can be a handful sometimes. I know she’s trying to look out for me, but I have everything under control and she just needs to trust me.

I don’t have to keep following Damon around. I realized that when I went to the human world with him. He has confidence in the businesses and positions he has been involved in for years… if I am going to take anything for him, then I will attack where he least expects it.

I have my strategy planned out and I’m going to stick to it. I have a meeting later with Nyra’s father where he’ll be introducing me to some politicians from the south
