Valen’s POV

The next day, Veyra stopped trying. No more surprise dinners. No more constant texts. It was as if. She got tired. She had finally listened to Gina

“See?” Gina said when I told her about the change doing our time out. “She was clingy. Now that she’s giving you space, doesn’t it feel better?”

“It does,” I admitted. “But I still want her to cook for me. Otherwise, what use is she to me?”

“She not just good for you,” Gina shrugged

I believed her.

But dinner was not done giving Veyra advice.

Gina had convinced Veyra to try some “fresh, sexy modern” style that turned out to be a disaster.”

When Veyra came home, she looked at me with a smile. “What do you think?”

“It is ugly,” I said.

“You hate it,” she whispered.

“Yes,” I said. “It is terrible. You better pray that your hair grows fast. You look like a clown”.

Later, when Gina called to “check in,” Veyra actually thanked her. “Thank you for suggesting this time for me. I don’t know why Valen hates it. Is it really that ugly?”
