"Wh-what???"
Feli returned to scrutinizing the strange man. She quickly averted her gaze when the man gave her a displeased look. "Um... I thought your son was still small, but he's already as big as a giant," Feli said innocently.
The strange woman laughed again. Feli was amazed to see that the woman's face still looked very young. Feli still couldn't believe that the woman had a child as big as the man who had been intimidating her with his gaze.
"Mah-dreh, look, this girl is so disrespectful to me!" hissed the man, as Feli returned his attention as if judging him. The man did not like being noticed in such a way like what Feli was doing to him. Moreover, Feli's words sounded sassy in his ears.
Feli's forehead furrowed. Why did the man look upset? What did he say? Why did he use foreign language again?
Ugh... can't they speak in normal language? Feli meant, use a language that she could understand. So that he doesn't look stupid like this.
Meanwhile, the woman who was Feli's employer for the next month, responded to her son's words with more laughter.
"Is something funny, Mah?"
"Oh Mi Hijo, you're too stiff and sensitive. This girl is not disrespectful to you, but she was surprised because she thought she would be taking care of a baby. In reality, what this girl will be taking care of is a giant baby like you. Hahaha... She didn't misspeak, Mi Hijo."
"What? Oh M****a! (Damn it!)"
"Mi Hijo!"
The man immediately fell silent when he saw his mother's fierce gaze.
"Well, Dulce niña, you'll be working with my son from today. Ah... but you can rest first. You must have had a grueling journey earlier."
"Mah-dreh, there's no need to spoil her like that. It is a risk for this girl to be willing to be stationed anywhere." The intimidating man rolled his eyeballs lazily.
"Mi Hijo, it is indeed a risk, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't allow her to rest first. She's not a robot."
The man chuckled, then looked at Feli sarcastically. "In that case, I'd rather just buy a robot—"
"—and leave you increasingly unable to communicate with others?" the foreign woman asked, glaring at her son. Her son was still antisocial.
"Ma—"
"Alright, you take her to her room. Mah-dreh has to leave soon. Your aunt is waiting for Mah-dreh."
"Dulce niña, I'm going home first. Your uniform is ready in the closet inside the room you'll be staying in," the woman said to Feli with a gentle smile.
"Going home? You... You don't live here too?" asked Feli like a fool.
"No, I don't. This is my son's apartment, and as I said earlier, you will be working in this apartment for him."
Deg...
Feli's heart suddenly skipped a beat.
"I work... here for him?" asked Feli. She swallowed saliva with difficulty. "H-how many people live in this house, ma'am? Is there another maid besides me?" asked Feli again starting to panic.
"Why are you asking like that?! You know, that's disrespectful!!"
"Mi Hijo..."
"Ma—"
"There's only my son in this place. And you're the only maid here. Make sure you take good care of my son, Dulce niña. Pay attention to his eating patterns, and—"
"I'm not a baby, Mah-dreh!"
"You are a baby, Mah-dreh's giant baby," the woman said with an amused chuckle.
The man could only reply with an annoyed growl before his mother actually left the apartment a few minutes later.
No one made a sound after the departure of the woman who welcomed Feli earlier. These two people were still silent in place with their own thoughts. The man was still upset with his mother, while Feli thought about her fate.
Living with a grown man who is arguably sexy and looks intimidating just the two of them?
Ugh! All her life, Feli had never been close to a man other than her family and the bodyguards who guarded her. But now, she has to live alone with a man who is even stranger? For one month?
Feli's head was spinning thinking about all this.
"Follow me!"
Feli snapped out of her reverie, and immediately rushed to follow her employer.
Employer? Shit! She who was usually an employer was now a worker.
"Damn mission!" Feli whispered sharply.
Feli stopped walking when the man in front of her suddenly turned around.
"What are you talking about?" the man asked sarcastically.
Feli blinked innocently. She swallowed saliva with difficulty. "I-I didn't say anything, Sir."
"I'm sure my ears are still working properly."
"I was just breathing."
"Does your breathing always sound noisy?" quipped the man, as he was sure Feli had said something.
"I-"
"Hurry up, you're so noisy!"
The man cut Feli off, and immediately resumed his steps towards one of the rooms in this place.
'You asked me to speak first, damn it!' cursed Feli inwardly. Feli sighed in exasperation, then followed her employer's footsteps again.
Employer? Feli wanted to vomit every time she called the man her employer.
"This is your room."
Feli glanced around the room that the man had opened after they arrived.
"You, I hope you work well in this place. I will not hesitate to kick you out of here if you make even one mistake!" said the man in front of Feli with a super cold face.
"What?" Feli blinked in surprise. "Sir, no one in this world is perfect. Just because of one mistake, you're going to fire me?"
"Why are you so sassy?!”
"Am I... sassy? I'm just asking."
"I don't like being argued with!"
"Who's arguing? I'm just asking, Sir-"
"Shut up! You're really noisy! You work with me, of course you have to follow my rules! And my rules, NO ONE MISTAKES! Remember that!" The man walked away leaving Feli in the predominantly white room. The room was somehow many times smaller than her room in England. There was only a small bed and a closet that was not really the size of Felicity Addison's closet.
"He's so grumpy. Tsk! This is crazy. I can't make even one mistake?" Feli bit her lip anxiously. "At this rate, I'm pessimistic that I'll be able to complete this mission. Ugh! Do I have to give up the private jet and friends?"
Feli's eyes wandered, and she looked back and forth at the bed and wardrobe in this room.
"Are these beds and cabinets toys? They're so small! Am I a Barbie doll?!" Feli grumbled incoherently.
An annoyed Feli kicked the small suitcase she was carrying, then walked hurriedly towards the bed.
"Ouch! Damn it!" Feli was silent for a moment, feeling the pain as her leg bone accidentally hit the bed that would be her resting place for this month. "Damn bed!" cursed Feli still with her annoyance. Her eyes were already glazed over. "This hurts... hiks... damn it!" cursed Feli once again. Sobs began to escape her lips. Feli remembered her Mommy and Daddy. Her parents wouldn't let Feli get hurt like this. "Mommy... hiks... Daddy..." Feli whimpered.
Meanwhile, the man who was Feli's employer climbed the stairs of her apartment in annoyance. "On the first day, she already dared to contradict me. You damn maid! This is the first time a maid has dared to act like that young lady! Just watch, I'll make you leave this house!" the man monologued with a vicious smile.
This man had even carried out his first abomination, by turning the storeroom into his new maid's room.
Yesterday, the mother had prepared a guest room for Feli to stay in. But in the evening, Jerrald Mendez ordered his men to move the maid's clothes that served as her uniform to a small room that was more appropriate for a cramped rat house. "Enjoy your cramped room, Miss." Jerrald monologued with a satisfied smile.

>>"Mah-dreh and your Pah-dreh are going on our honeymoon. While Mah-dreh is away, you must not cause any trouble, Mi-Hijo! Especially to your new maid. Don't try to kick her out of your apartment! Only Mah-dreh has the right to dismiss her.""What???? Ma—">>"No argument!">>"Honey, we have to leave soon.">>"Wait a minute, Husband... I have to warn our son so that he doesn't make trouble while we're gone."There was a crisp laugh from the other side, which Jerrald was sure was his father's.Jerrald rolled his eyes in annoyance. Did he still look like a child!"Mah... The new maid is working in my apartment, of course I have the right to kick her out if she does an incompetent job, Mah-dreh!">>"If her work is incompetent, you wait until Mah-dreh comes home. Mah-dreh doesn't want to be fooled again like before."Jerrald groaned inwardly. His mother must have been talking about his behavior of kicking out the maids who worked with him before. Even though the maids had done a good job.
"How is her condition?""Still beautiful beyond belief.""Noe, I'm not joking!""Tsk! Cousin has no sense of humor.""You just answer what I ask. No need to talk all the way!""Well, Mr. Mendez, I apologize for your cousin's impudence. She's fine, just a common fever. It looks like this cute, pretty girl is exhausted. You... have been torturing her, haven't you? You must have made her work endlessly.""Don't talk nonsense! I haven't even given her a job once!" hissed Jerrald in disgust when his maternal cousin accused him of that.Jerrald turned his gaze towards the beautiful girl who was currently lying weakly with her eyes perfectly closed on the bed of one of the guest rooms in this apartment. The room her new maid would have been in, had Jerrald not carried out his devious plan.Jerrald's hands were crossed. He stared at his maid with the man's typical flat, cold expression. His mind drifted as he recalled the events of almost an hour ago.Jerrald had found his new maid lying on t
Feli opened her eyes and found a man sitting in a chair next to the bed. The man was busy with the laptop in front of him.Her employer? What was he doing here?In silence, Feli watched the employer, and remembered why she was lying on this fairly soft bed. The comfort of this bed was far different from the bed in the room she was staying in. The room where she had rested earlier after arriving at the apartment.Feli's mind wandered. Earlier... she was thirsty after crying for about an hour in that cramped room. That was after her new employer wrapped her injured finger with a bandage, then ordered her to go back to rest. Her head was dizzy from crying for so long. The pain in her finger made her body hot and cold. Moreover, her stomach had not been filled since arriving in this country. The apple she had bitten earlier was not eaten because of the incident in the kitchen.Feli recalled, with a heavy head, Feli walked slowly towards the kitchen to drink. However, when she reached the
"Is it like this? I think this will do."Feli pressed the ON button on the electric coffee pot after putting coffee into the machine. The beautiful woman learned how to use it through a search engine, and matched the image on the search engine with the electric coffee pot available in this kitchen.Yesterday the employer had ordered her to make the man coffee every morning, and this was what she was doing today."Hm... what should I do while waiting for this coffee to be made?" Feli tapped her fingers on the pantry table. "Cleaning this apartment? Tsk! The day of torture begins," Feli said depressed.Feli stepped towards the place where the vacuum cleaner was placed. Yesterday her employer had told her where the cleaning tools were kept in the apartment.Feli pushed the vacuum cleaner out of the room.Dug!Feli paused as the tool accidentally collided with the wall. Not long after, Feli crouched down so that her body was parallel to the tool she was pushing, then checked whether it wa
"Mr. Mendez, the company—Um... Sir?"Jerrald snapped out of his reverie as the secretary roused him. He glanced around.Ah... he was in his office. Even standing right in front of his desk. Jerrald hadn't realized he'd been daydreaming since he left the meeting room."What is it, Eloy?""Is there something on your mind?" asked Eloy worriedly. The boss seemed to lack focus. Not just this time, but since the meeting room.Several times Eloy had to snap Jerrald out of his reverie. That, of course, made Eloy anxious. Could it be that the boss was not feeling well? This was the first time Jerrald was not focused at work.
"What do you mean, Miss Cia?" asked Jerrald again."That... T-that..." Feli fell silent again. This time biting her lip in worry.Jerrald squinted suspiciously when Feli did not clearly answer his question."You're really suspicious, Miss Cia. Who exactly are you?" asked Jerrald in the end.Feli's body suddenly went cold. Jerrald gave her a look that was nothing short of piercing. Like a freshly sharpened knife, ready to cut her at any moment."W-Why are you talking like that? Of course, I-I am Jolicia Floy, sir.""Jolicia Floy... Of course, I know you're Jolicia Floy." Jerrald crossed his arms. His eyes were still at home radiating sharpness."Then why are you a-asking?""Because you're the strangest maid I've ever had. You can't do your job well, you're troublesome, and you're not independent. Are you a professional? Is it true that the agency that houses you actually knows your performance, Miss?" asked Jerrald in succession. Making Feli even more cornered."Sir—""Then what did yo
"Oh my God, Miss Cia!"Feli let out a tired sigh. This was the umpteenth time her employer had let out a screech like this. Like he was ready to skin her. What else was wrong now?"Is this how you wash potatoes?! Give it to me!"Feli stepped away from the sink as Jerrald roughly grabbed the potato she was holding. The girl gave her employer an annoyed look from the side. Feli noticed the way Jerrald washed some of the potatoes."I think I washed them the same way you did, sir.""How can it be the same?! You just wet them without cleaning them!""I already—""No need to talk so much! Better put the rest of the vegetables in the fridge before they all go bad!" Jerrald ordered, but the man's gaze didn't move from the few potatoes he was cleaning.Feli was silent. But her eyes were fixed on Jerrald. If only she hadn't remembered the private jet her daddy promised would be hers in a few weeks, Feli would have hit Jerrald over the head with whatever was in the kitchen. It looks like a nearb
"Did you order food for her?" asked Jerrald as he checked, then signed some papers Eloy had just given him."As you command, sir," Eloy replied.Jerrald fell silent. His hand gripped the pen he was using tightly. His mind wandered back to this morning's events in his apartment. He had left the maid behind after yelling at her."You can teach me to make coffee for you, sir. So you don't have to bother making coffee yourself.""Sir, don't you want to have breakfast?""Sir, would you like to leave now?""Do what you can do, Miss Cia! Don't bother me and talk to me!" snapped Jerrald before opening the main door to his apartment, then walking away from the maid who was startled by his outburst. The maid's eyes looked hurt, but Jerrald tried not to care and closed the door tightly.Jerrald closed his eyes as he recalled how he had snapped at his fussy maid. He shouldn't have vented his frustration on the maid. But every time he remembered that his heart started to feel something strange for
