Black and Bianca came to a large clearing. The grass was so high that it reached above Magnus's knees and below Bianca's hips.
She looked around in wonder. The trees were giant, and their leaves rustled in the wind. Magnus took both her hands and gave her a shy smile. His eyes suddenly clouded over. He sent a message to his Beta to make sure no one put a paw in the area where he and his Luna were. "Who did you just communicate with?" Bianca asked admiringly when she saw the forest green of the Alpha's eyes regain their intensity. "Duncan... our beta, Love," he replied. "Can you only communicate with one person at a time?" she questioned as she raised a hand to run her thumb over Magnus' green eye. "Technically, I can talk to the five hundred or so members that make up my pack. But... for their sake, I never do it," he said, suddenly looking down at the ground. Alo smoked quietly as he sat in his rocking chair. He straightened his cowboy hat higher on his forehead with one hand as he saw a car speeding toward the Crossroad Café. The black 4×4 lurched past the front steps. "Bloody hell," grumbled a beautiful blonde with a pair of thick black glasses on her nose. It must have taken Emmanuelle three days to finally get to the crossroads indicated on the geographical landmark on her cell phone. There was no doubt about it now. This café had a powerful protective barrier, and she knew perfectly well that the spirits were the source of it. She had been surprised at first to see the veil of magic lift at the bend in the main road. She had been walking in circles for a whole day and had to cry out loud so that the secret road was finally revealed to her.
