Chapter 22

King Lawson tightened his grip on his sword before taking another lunge towards Vasmir, who immediately dodged the attack… Barely. The assassin gritted his teeth since he could not find any opening for a successful attack. What was even more frustrating was the fact that the king seemed to be getting stronger, instead of becoming tired.

“His concentration is surely 100%. I need a distraction,” Vasmir thought.

When the king was about to attack once again, Vasmir thought of something. He intentionally let his guard down and looked behind the king as if he had seen a ghost.

“Y-Your Highness?” he said and just like what he wanted, King Lawson’s concentration faltered in no time.

He stopped and quickly turned on his heels to see the person Vasmir just addressed. He knew too well that the people in the palace only used that title on one person. However, the moment he saw that no one was there but the other soldiers, he felt a sharp steel on his neck.
