Gaius, the elderly man as well as the grandfather of Pearce, immediately stepped forward to stop what his grandson was doing. He did not like the way he was acting, especially raising a sword on a woman.
“Do not be ridiculous!” Gaius yelled at him. “Put your sword back in its sheath and apologize to her.”

The crowd was surprised and a bit worried since they knew too well that Pearce was a great swordsman. Still, curiosity hung over them upon hearing from him that the woman right before them was no ordinary one.

Emery’s immediate reaction was to grab her sword and get on her horse to head to the barracks. She could hear Vasmir calling out to her from behind but she just ignored him and whipped her horse. As she got closer, she could see the soldiers fighting against men whose faces were covered. Upon reaching the entrance that was blown up, she immediately dismounted and unsheathed her sword.
