Rya's POV

"You're a betrayer, Rya.", "I trusted you.", "I can never forgive you", "Why don't you have your men kill me once and for all?" All of Frost's words echoed in my head loudly while I walked out.

My head was bowed in frustration, and my heart throbbed against my chest. There was this feeling within me, as though I was a child who had done something wrong, who awaited punishment.

Never before have I felt such pain in his voice. His voice cracked, as though he fought back the tears clinging to his eyes. And I stared into his eyes for the times he spoke. They were red and wet. The emotions in there were so real... so true. And all the words he spoke, he was right.

For so long, I had fought. I had battled. I had sought revenge over Vargan's cruelty to my family and to myself. The mission had clouded my head so thick, I had not been able to differentiate between friend and foe.

And in the end, I won. The moonstone was in my hand. The throne and the title was mine to sit on and be

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 123: Reconciliation

Rya's POV Our fingers were intertwined as we walked out of the dungeon, swinging happily as we were somewhat new to this feeling. He never said a word, and neither did I. But the short glances we gave ourselves at intervals spoke louder than what words could quantify.I noticed the way he threw his face away, and even blocked his face with his hands as the morning sun shone on him. That only lasted for a few seconds before he embraced the warmth and the sweet soothing winds. He stood frozen for a second, his eyes closed, and his head tilted to the sky as he let out a deep exhale. I stood at the other side, staring at him. There was still that guilt inside me, but I needed to forgive myself for what was caused by my stubbornness. There, I watched a few servants walk past us. "You three, come," I called them. They scurried their way to where we stood, curtsing with their head buried to the ground. "Draw a warm bath for Alpha Frost. And make a large dinner for him as well," I ordere

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 121: Sins of the father

Frost's POV How the mighty had fallen! How far down did I need to fall again? Or rather, how far down would Rya send me to make herself feel any better? These were my father's sins. My father's sins had dragged me into this hell hole of a place, into a place of darkness and poisoned air. He deserved this, and definitely not me. It's been days since Rya and her loyal men stormed the council room and killed its members, and left my father and I to rot in this dungeon. And since then, each day was its own version of trauma—of innermost chaos and battles. At many instances, I could feel my head literally splitting from the numerous thoughts storming my mind. I was raving mad each day.I didn't know which to decipher first. Was it the fact that my father wasn't truly my father? That the man who had raised me from birth, the one who I grew to admire and even visualized to be better was a murderer? The entire story surrounding Rya's birth and mine wasn't just adding up. What kind of man

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 120: The Alpha's Authority

Rya's POV "Hold on for me," Kevin said to me, slowly placing me on the ground. His face wore a mix of worry and peace. I didn't know how he was able to blend two opposite reactions together. He was worried that I, his daughter, was severely bruised and injured. At the same time, he was so peaceful that nothing was ever going south. It was as though he had all things under his control. The way he spoke to me calmly, the way he placed me on the ground and stared at the wounds. He knew what to do. He closed his eyes, and placed his hands on my belly. His hands glowed with a bright white light, and for a moment, a deep exhale escaped my lips. I was completely free... healed. Then, I remembered, he had powers of his own. Healing powers to be precise. "Your healing tricks still work," I said to him with a slight grunt as I pulled myself up from the bed. "I practice it every single day," he said to me. Oh how pleasant it was to set eyes on him. Without any second thoughts, I wrapped m

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 119: The Confrontation

Rya's POV Lily asked that we find her. She needed us to come to whichever unfortunate pack she took as her hiding place. Certainly! I wasn't one to back down on such an offer. That was exactly what we were going to do. I had Oscar pick his best men, and travel down this dangerous path with me. Their loyalty was one I appreciated down to even the simplest gesture. I asked around, did my findings to know which pack she and her treacherous father originated from. The journey to this Black Moon Pack took literally two days. However, it impressed me how Lily was proactive to make the road network turn against us. The traps she set? Dangerous and precise. It began with arrows that flew like wild bats from a cave. One struck the guard by my side, piercing through his artery, dropping him dead to the ground. "Take cover!" I remember Oscar yelled at the top of his voice, and the guards immediately placed their shields to protect themselves. Oscar on the other hand bridged the distance be

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 118: Penultimate

Rya's POV I was so confused. I didn't know what to do. From where I stood, I could hear the chatters from outside the pack house, the voices of people who gathered to see me... to see the moonstone. In my confusion, I overheard footsteps approaching me. The echoing noises pierced through my train of thoughts, and brought me back to reality. I turned to the side, to the sight of Elder Darius who struggled with his broken hip and the cane in his hand. "Lady Rya, you're here," he said with a bit of relief in his voice. He sounded as though he had searched for me for a long time. His eyes lit up with excitement as he stared at me, with his lips almost curving into a smile. "The people are outside. They are all gathered. They want to see you... to see the moonstone. They are anticipating the reveal," he said to me. As though I couldn't hear for myself! This aged man only seemed to add pressure to my burdened shoulders even though he sounded as though he wanted to make me... make this
