Se connecterRya's POVI sought a little bit of peace in my solitude and quiet. The bed was soft, well laid, with the bedding changed to something that smelled like real roses. The smell filled the nostrils, finding its way into my nostrils. It was therapeutic, soothing, and calming. It wasn't long before a knock broke through the silence and shattered my peace. The door opened and it was a buffed guard who walked in. "Sorry to disturb, my lady. Elder Darius wants to see you. He's been waiting for you," he said to me. I let out a silent groan, and rolled my eyes. Why couldn't I just have a day to myself? Certainly it was impossible. I gestured with a wave of my hand and the guard left immediately. I waited a few more minutes before throwing my legs down, and leaving the room to where he was. "My lady," Elder Darius bowed as soon as he heard my footsteps. "Please, don't," I tried to refuse. But the aged man had lowered his head so low to the ground, I feared that his old bones might break.
Rya's POV"Frost!" I trembled at the sound of his voice. At that spot, I could feel waves of every emotion hitting me hard. My knees were weakened, shaky, like I would fall any second from that moment. My heart raced against my chest, with a sharp stinging sensation around my forehead that almost blurred my vision. I whispered every prayer that could exist, all of which were pleas for strength to surpass that moment. I took in a deep breath, and turned around with a plastic smile on my face. "Hey, Frost," I drew the words nervously. I swallowed hard, while trying to lay my sweaty hands dry with the aid of my dress. He didn't flinch, didn't tweak for a second. He didn't wear a frown on his face, or have any muscle tensed as though he was angry. He was rather... smiling, even though it was a slight one. "Have you been avoiding me?" He asked in a calm tone. His hands were dipped in his pockets, and he was taking very steady steps to where I was standing. I couldn't move an inch. It
Rya's POVI wasn't ready to accept the truth. There was more to the eyes when it came to fates mates than just loving a hot alpha with an amazing smile. Besides, our lives were intertwined in accordance with the prophecy. Around evening, when the sun was setting, but still had its glow draping over the landscape like a blanket, I heard a knock on the door that jolted me from my subconscious. My first thought was Frost. Was he the one who knocked? Why was he here? My mind had drifted so far—reminiscing about the moments of the kiss in the garden and the sudden wave of realization that hit me—I could feel my fingers trembling. At the end, it turned out to be a maid who stepped through the door. "I'm sorry for disturbing, my lady," she curtsied. You really should be sorry. The words almost slipped my lips, but my self control was intact. "Dinner is served, my lady," she curtsied again as she said. I went blank for a second. The last time I had dinner, I invited him over. And hone
Rya's POV"What just happened? What did I just do?" I lowered my head and asked myself. All I felt at that moment was shame—but in a good way. I only wondered for a second why what happened had to occur in the garden? Why didn't fate let it be in a bedroom? Gods knew that I would have ravaged every part of him and savoured every taste in his body. Even if he would be reluctant, I would have given myself to him willingly, and would go more rounds until exhaustion weakened his bones. His touch was... soft. The manner in which he pulled me? I could suspect I wasn't the only one looking forward to that moment. He was... wild, uncontrollable, and I loved him that way. The moment our lips locked, Fully leaped in utmost excitement within me. She squealed, almost as though she was taking over my body to have him to herself. "Mate! Mate!! Mate!!!" She kept yelling within. His kiss had ignited something inside me. Filly finally confirmed what I had long suspected. Frost—he was my fated mat
Frost's POV I sprang from my bed as soon as I noticed the sun sitting high in the sky, and its rays falling into the room. I was anxious, frantic, afraid. There was still that lingering fear from the premonition I had. My visions were getting worse. And if I didn't tackle them early, the results would cripple me forever. I rushed out of the room, in search of Rya. Where was she? Was she okay? The questions flooded through my head as I walked around, scanning the entire place, searching for her. Surprisingly, she wasn't too hard to find. As though she knew I was searching for her, she walked out from a room, looking refreshed and ready for the day's activities. "Hey," her face beamed with so much excitement as she saw me. But I was one hasty man who had already killed the mood with the urgency in my tone. "Where are you going?" I grabbed her hand tightly and asked. I was scanning the environment with heavy breath. In a fleeting moment, my fears were mirrored in her. Her eyes bul
Frost's POV The entire night was torturing. The hormones wouldn't keep rushing like a flood, and neither did the thoughts of Rya vanish completely from my head. I laid for most of the night, turning on my bed, eyes widened but praying for a deep slumber. By morning, the feeling had changed. I began feeling her—feeling her emotions at random hours, in random places. I was training in the field, and there was this certain exhaustion that weighed on my chest throughout. I couldn't just fathom it. That wasn't all. At the moments when she was far away from me, there would be this form of fear gripping me tight, making my heart double in its rhythm. The bond between us wasn't just a memory or a mere feeling. It felt alive, and it was waking slowly. On a certain day, the council held its meeting. I couldn't decipher for what reason was best known to Rya, she insisted that I must be present in the room. Thankfully, I had gotten over the trauma that came with that room. The flashes of the
