Chapter 30: The Bet

Rule number one; always avoid the Alphas

That's the first thing he taught us.

And those are the very words he lives by.

But it's a rule I've never had the luxury to follow. Since I lived with Alphas.

And here's one of them.

Talia’s eyes slowly move from me to the rest of my team, quietly assessing and judging.

That's the kind of predator she is. Impulse is for those beneath her. Everything she does, every move, every blow is calculated, intentional and precise.

Dena on the other hand is impulse personified. And she proves this immediately as she snarls at Ash, who by the way towers over her.
