I couldn't sleep properly after the human left. His emptiness haunted my nightmares for days. I was restless.

And I wasn't the only one.

The entire pack had an air of worry about it.

The human did not leave.

The scouts had followed him all the way to the edge of our lands. But he didn't cross it. He just set up camp there.

And every day since then, he would make the trek to our pack gates and meet with my father.

I don't know what it was he wanted but my father's response every day was “No”.

So the Hollow man left every day rejected.

The Hollow man. That's the name the children gave him after I told them what I saw.

They wouldn't follow me into the woods since that day, they stayed at home, buried in their parents arms, terrified they would cross paths with the human if they stepped outside.

But even the parents felt something was wrong with that human. They murmured daily about the man's request and if they should just kill him. Trying to find a justification for it not to be sense

My pack was different from yours. Where you lived close to the humans, we retreated to the cold mountains. Where you craved individual strength. We carved only unity. And from that unity, we had strength. We were peaceful people, completely devoted to the moon goddess and cut off from the chaos of the world.Satisfied with our little piece of peace. Most packs didn't even know we existed. And we liked it that way.But now I think isolating ourselves was a mistake. It was supposed to be a normal day. I readied myself to gather my friends and lead them on one of our childish adventures through the woods.I was excited; finishing my meal and dressing up as quickly as I could.I planned for the adventure to be different that day, to show my friends something truly amazing.I had shifted at the age of eleven. The first to ever do that, and I was ready to brag about it to them. They would be awed by my wolf form.I'm about to leave when we hear a scout ask to see my father; the Alpha kin

We sat around the fire, eating roasted boar that Corrin barely caught under Ash's supervision. They were happy I got the Knights head—Ronric’s head, but also pretty pissed I took such a risk.Sophia really let me have it.Here I thought the lecture would come from Celeste. After that we decided to leave the forest as quickly as we could.“Did you see him?” Sophia asks me, worry heavy in her voice.Caspian.“I think he’s fine, I saw him run away before the knight exploded” I reassure her.She smiles, but I can tell she's not completely convinced.Even I worry about him a little.Just a little. His team will have to find another knight and if they're anything like Ronrics then he'd have to be quick in dealing with them. There's that guilty feeling again.I should've told him that much.“Don't worry” Celeste whispers, sitting right beside me, “Druids are not as common as our Blessed. I find it extremely unlikely they manage to catch not one but two for this trial”“Thanks” I sigh.“So, y

“Well?” she says, her hands on her waist and her gaze probing me for answers “I'm waiting” “It's not what you think” I mutter, like that excuse has ever worked in the history of ever. She just glares in response.“Fine, it's exactly what you think” I mutter, my voice so low it's almost a whisper.I really wish she would stop glaring at me. I feel like a child caught with a boy by their mother.“How long has this been going on?” she sighs.“Umm… Not long, we only had sex once and then this kiss” I say, trying to show her it's nothing. Is it nothing?“You had sex!” She exclaims loudly.Oops.“Can you keep your voice down please,” I plead, hoping no one heard that just now, as I clutch Ronric’s head tighter.“What's with you and surprises anyways” she whispers, “next thing you're going to tell me is you're friends with a god”Well she's not too far off.“Where are the others?” I ask.“They're not too far from here” she shrugs, “it's a miracle I managed to convince them to leave it to me

A screeching sound cuts through the air as I approach Ronric with blinding speed, trying my hardest to keep his power contained, so I can get close. Then a branch erupts from his body and pierces me, but I quickly break it off and dodge more branches coming at me from his body. This is insane. It's like there's a tree growing from inside him. The dodging slows me down and more branches dig into me, but I ignore the pain and break each one as I close the distance. If Caspian and his team were still around him, they would have been impaled by hundreds of branches by now. It's no problem for me. Pain fades and wounds heal. “Your head is mine Ronric” I yell past the screeching sound. And he turns to me. Branches are already growing out of his eyes, and yet I feel like he sees far better than anyone I've ever met. More branches pierce into my skin and I look at him. This must be why he wasn't bothered when Caspian team came. He always planned on dying here. “You picke

A silent, gentle and cool breeze blows through the forest, sending the trees dancing and the leaves falling. A gentle breeze upon my skin but all I feel is heat.Heat from my body reeling after I healed Ash and Sophia, heat from my mind spinning and my heart racing as I try to think of a way out of this situation we've found ourselves. The Knight, Ronric, stands on one end of the clearing, Lucien and Caspian on another and we on ours. We could run and leave them to fight it out but if Lucien's team wins, then we'd have to find another knight, and we can't be sure the next Knight would be stronger or weaker than Ronric. If he's weaker than we'd be lucky but if he's stronger than we'd be right back to where we started or dead.We have to stay and figure out how to take that bastard's head. That's why I'm staying. Not because I'm worried that he might kill Caspian. It could never be that. And yet my heart skips a beat when Ronric points his claymore right at Caspian.Okay, maybe he's pa
