Isabella’s POV
I didn’t hear from Carter since he left my place yesterday night in a hurry to meet with his friend.
I sent him a text when I woke but he hasn’t replied yet, anyway I’m not worried I’ll see him in the office and ofcourse our relationship has never been better we’re in a very good place right now.
“Hey you.” Ryan says joining me by my desk. He’s one of the only friends I have made since I started working here. There aren’t alot of female workers in my department. He’s a software engineer like me and has a great senses humor so we get along well and technically there are only about 2 other female software engineers here but they work with a different division hence me being friends with Ryan only.
“Hey.” I say sitting down.
“How are you feeling? Heard you were sick.” He says then I remember I didn’t show up to work yesterday, Carter had called the office and said I wasn’t coming.

Isabella’s POV Carter is acting super weird, I mean he sometimes acts odd but this is just blatant weird. He left my apartment last night without so much as a goodbye and when I called him he didn’t pick or return my call. I just don’t understand men, what the hell is his problem? Isabella’s POV After our little heart to heart conversation Carter and I have dinner in front of the tv while watching friends. After we cuddle on the couch, I don’t know how long we sprawled on the couch like that, connected and close, my head on his shoulder and his hands caressing the curve of my spine. I check the time to see it’s almost 11 pm and I was supposed to meet with Alessia hours ago, I already have angry messages from her. "I have to go." I say looking at my phone. Carter pressed his lips to my temple and murmured, “Stay.” “I can’t Alessia will kill me if I don’t meet her in the next 30 minutes.” I say still cuddled against him. He hugged me. “You’re coming back though?” He asked. “It’s already late, see you tomorrow at work?” I ask. “I’m flying to Silicon Valley tomorrow.” He says nuzzling his nose on my hair. “When will you be back?” I asked pouting.
