My heart raced and my paws pounded, dashing through the dense undergrowth of the forest behind my house. I loved how my senses were heightened in my wolf form.

Every scent around me was vivid and sharp, and the image of Lenora's smiling face with that guy haunted me, making my ribs tighten with envy.

I saw the way the punk held her waist, the way they interacted, and their easy laughter – it felt like a blade slicing through my chest and it ruined my night. As much as I attempted not to stare, I couldn't help myself.

Why did Lenora have to make me envious all the damn time? Why couldn't she stay away from other guys? It wasn't a Herculean task.

As if on cue, my wolf spotted a huge rabbit sprinting down the middle of the road. As it turned left to run into the woods at an angle, I leaped in front of it.

The rabbit stopped in its tracks, its large black eyes locked onto mine before it gave me a quick look over its shoulder and continued running.
