SERENA’S POV

I was in my room trying to rest when I heard a loud scream coming from the hallway. The sound was so sharp and frightening that it made me jump up from my bed. It was Julianna’s voice, and she sounded really scared.

I quickly ran out of my room to see what was happening. Other people in the house were also rushing toward the sound. When I got to the hallway, I saw everyone gathered around something on the floor.

There was a maid lying on the ground. She looked unconscious and wasn’t moving at all. Her body was just lying there like she had been hurt badly. I felt my heart start beating fast as I looked at the scene.

Then I saw something that made my stomach drop. My bracelet was lying on the floor next to the maid. The silver bracelet that I always wore was just sitting there beside her unconscious body.

“Look at this!” Julianna shouted, pointing at my bracelet. “This is Serena’s bracelet right here next to the poor girl!”
