He Walked In Sleep

"Mr. Jen," I spoke, shockingly.

Finding the old man supporting his lean withered figure with a stick at my door, I pulled the door open. I invited him inside.

"What is he doing here?" I thought.

He shuffled in through the narrowed corridor, his orbs moving around as if measuring the unseen danger lurking around. The noise of his ragged breath was filling the silence. Walking past Jade completely unbothered by her presence standing in his way, he slipped into the living room.

Tensely, I followed him. I didn't know what to expect from his appearance at this late hour of the night.

The moonlight streamed in through the cracked glass of the window, illuminating the thin fine lines of wrinkles gracing his skin, and his intricately fragile fingers loosened their grip around the nape of his cane after he grumpily positioned himself on the sofa.
