I have been staring at her for a while. She is fast asleep and is so peaceful. She is safe.....safe? How long before she knows that the one who hurt her is the enemy? How long before the news breaks her? She looked up to her elder brother. She loves him and can die for him if it comes to it. But him - he is twisting the knife harder while he smiles at her and deceives her.

I fear she will let him because he is family. I fear she will take it lying down. I fear she will think she deserves every betrayal. I fear she is less of herself daily, and nothing can be done about it.

I rest my head on her chest, and her heartbeat is normal, I hear her heartbeat, and it makes me feel at home. It makes me happy knowing her heart is still beating. I might have lost my child, but thank God I didn't lose my Luna.

I toss over and place her hand around my waist. I allow her to be the big spoon, and I slowly start feeling sleepy, and I smile.

She is home.
