Leah

Three armed men filled the doorway, silhouettes against the hallway light. They froze at the sight of us: my back arched, hair spilling everywhere, body moving in a rhythm that left nothing to the imagination.

One of them let out a low whistle—until I turned my head. The red marks on my face hit them like a bucket of ice water. Their expressions curdled.

“Ugh. Wrong room,” one muttered, slamming the door shut.

The footsteps retreated.

I shoved off him instantly, scrambling to the far side of the bed, chest heaving. Moonlight sliced through the curtains, illuminating the wound. The skin around it had gone pitch black; his lips were turning purple. Wolfsbane was minutes from his heart.

He didn’t wait for me. He ripped off his shirt, balled it, bit down on the fabric, and dug his own fingers into the bullet hole. Blood sprayed. My stomach lurched.

“Are you insane?!” I hissed, already yanking clothes on and grabbing my medical kit from the suitcase. “I’m a werewolf physician. I can treat wolfsbane poisoning. Move your hand.”

He didn’t argue. Just watched me with those unreadable eyes while I worked.

I cleaned the wound, sprinkled hemostatic powder laced with lunar silver—rare, expensive, and the only thing that could slow wolfsbane long enough to extract it safely—then threaded a needle. Every time the needle pierced skin he inhaled sharply, muscles jumping under my fingers. I tried not to notice how warm he was, how the raw Alpha power in him seemed to pulse against my palms.

“Can’t handle a little stitching?” I muttered, glancing up. “Not so tough now, huh? Especially after you decided to play surgeon on yourself.”

His gaze was already locked on me—curious, intense, like I was a puzzle he intended to solve. Heat rushed to my cheeks; my hands shook. The stitches ended up crooked and ugly, but they held.

Half an hour later the bleeding had stopped. My fingertips kept brushing his skin accidentally—each touch sending little sparks through me, like static from a storm.

“Done,” I said, sitting back.

His hand shot out, fingers clamping gently but firmly under my chin, tilting my face toward the faint light. He studied me the way no one ever had—slowly, thoroughly. My small face, the bright green eyes everyone said were my only decent feature, and the curse of red blotches that ruined everything else.

I tried to jerk away. The second I broke contact, something inside me howled—a desperate, pained sound from my wolf that made me freeze. She was frantic, clawing at the separation.

Without thinking, I shifted closer. Just an inch. His scent wrapped around me again, and the howling quieted. A satisfied smirk tugged at his mouth—smug, knowing, infuriating.

“Your name,” he demanded. “And pack.”

I pressed my lips together. “The wolves hunting you are gone. You should leave.”

He gave a soft, dangerous laugh. Then, quick as a striking snake, he plucked the necklace from my throat—the only thing my mother had left me, engraved with the Silver Moon priestess sigil.

“Give it back!” I lunged.

He held it high, inspecting the pendant while I jumped uselessly, too short to reach. Amusement glinted in his eyes.

“What, a gift from your mate?” he teased.

“It’s none of your business,” I snapped. Outwardly I was furious, but inside my wolf was practically purring, delirious with the attention. It made me want to scream.

He toyed with me a moment longer—like a cat with a half-dead mouse—then strode to the porthole window.

No way was he escaping with my mother’s pendant.

I threw myself at him. He didn’t dodge. He caught me instead, arms banding around my waist, lifting me clean off the floor. I struggled, but it was pointless; my wolf melted under his touch, turning my limbs to jelly.

He dipped his head, face inches from mine, voice low and velvet-rough. “When you reach Atwak City, come to The Nest Nightclub. I’ll return your necklace then.”

Before I could answer, his hand brushed the nape of my neck—gentle, almost tender—and the world went black.

When I woke, the ship had docked. Sunlight streamed through the porthole. I was alone.

My neck ached where he’d struck the pressure point. I checked myself quickly—clothes intact, body untouched. Relief washed over me.

I rolled over and felt something hard under my arm. The dagger he’d hidden beneath the pillow. I picked it up, blew a strand of hair across the blade; it sliced clean through. Pure Alpha-forged steel—worth a fortune.

Consider it payment for services rendered. As for tracking down a dangerous stranger in some nightclub? Not in this lifetime.

This life was for revenge. I had no time for lethal Alphas who made my wolf lose her mind.

I tucked the dagger away, caught my reflection in the small mirror, and paused. The red blotches… they looked lighter. Faded, almost. Wishful thinking, probably.

No time to wonder. I had plans to make.

The ship’s horn sounded as we docked in Atwak City. Cold, salty wind whipped my hair the moment I stepped onto the gangway. My eyes narrowed against it, resolve hardening in my chest.

Samuel. Martha. Ella.

I’m back.

This time, I’m coming for you.

At the edge of the pier, Night Shadow Pack’s steward Aman stood scanning the crowd, muttering under his breath. “Where is that ugly girl…?”

I smiled—a small, sharp thing—and started toward him.

  • Cursed Ugly Mate: Reborn for Vengeance   Chapter 100

LeahBy the time I had Finn transferred into a quiet medical chamber at the edge of the arena complex, the roar of the crowd had faded into something distant and irrelevant, replaced instead by the sterile stillness that always settled over places where pain and healing coexisted in uneasy balance, and as I stood over him with my sleeves rolled up and my hands steady despite everything that had just happened, I felt that familiar shift inside myself where emotion receded just enough to allow precision to take its place. His condition was worse up close than it had appeared in the chaos of the arena, because once the adrenaline of the fall had begun to subside, the extent of the trauma revealed itself with quiet brutality, his breathing shallow and uneven, his muscles locked in involuntary resistance, and the unnatural angle of his torso confirming what I had already suspected—that his spine had taken the full impact of the fall and that every second mattered if t

  • Cursed Ugly Mate: Reborn for Vengeance   Chapter 99

LeahThe moment the blade shattered, a silence rippled through the arena that felt heavier than any roar, as though the entire pack had collectively forgotten how to breathe, and I stood frozen in place with my heart lodged somewhere high in my throat, staring at the broken fragments that fell uselessly to the wooden planks instead of burying themselves inside Kaelen’s body where they had so clearly been meant to go.I had seen the movement a fraction of a second before it happened, had recognized the unnatural gleam hidden inside the splintered edge of the platform, and in that instant every nerve inside me had ignited with the cold certainty that this had never been a fair fight, that this entire so-called challenge had been engineered with surgical precision to end in Kaelen’s death, and yet even with that realization burning through me, my body had been too far away, my voice too slow, my hands too empty to intervene. The impact never came.

  • Cursed Ugly Mate: Reborn for Vengeance   Chapter 98

LeahEverything happened so quickly that for a brief, disorienting moment, I felt as though time itself had lost its structure, collapsing into a single, irreversible sequence that I could neither stop nor fully process before it carried us all forward.I had not yet found the words to respond, not yet decided how to bridge the impossible distance between past and present, when Kaelen rose from his seat with a calm decisiveness that left no room for hesitation, as though the outcome had already been accepted long before the challenge had even been spoken aloud. He removed his outer coat in one smooth motion, tossing it aside without ceremony, revealing the strong lines of his body beneath the thin, fitted fabric that clung to him like a second skin. The early sunlight caught along the contours of his shoulders and arms, tracing the strength that had been forged not just through instinct, but through survival, through battles that had shaped him into something fa

  • Cursed Ugly Mate: Reborn for Vengeance   Chapter 97

LeahWe had both been omegas in Moon Shadow Pack. That fact alone had defined our childhoods in ways that no one ever bothered to question, because in a pack like ours, strength determined worth, and anything less was treated as expendable. We had not become friends in the way that others did, through shared interests or easy companionship, but through something quieter, something born out of necessity rather than choice. We understood what it meant to be overlooked. We understood what it meant to be tolerated rather than accepted. And more importantly, we understood what it meant to endure.I remembered the way he used to appear without warning, slipping into the spaces where I hid from the rest of the pack, carrying whatever scraps of food he had managed to secure without drawing attention to himself. He never made a show of it, never acted as though he was doing something generous or heroic, because we both knew that survival did n

  • Cursed Ugly Mate: Reborn for Vengeance   Chapter 96

LeahThe moment Finn Doyle spoke my name, it felt as though something long buried beneath years of silence and survival had been abruptly unearthed, dragged into the harsh light of the present where nothing was simple anymore, and where every memory carried consequences that I could no longer afford to ignore.I had not expected to see him again, not here, not like this, and certainly not in a place where every gaze carried judgment, calculation, and the unspoken anticipation of violence. The arena was loud, alive with the restless energy of wolves preparing for combat, yet for me, everything narrowed into a single point—him—standing there with the same unwavering gaze that had once belonged to a boy who had nothing, and yet still found a way to give. For a fleeting second, I almost rose from my seat without thinking, driven by instinct rather than reason, but before my body could follow through, Kaelen’s hand closed firmly around my wrist and

  • Cursed Ugly Mate: Reborn for Vengeance   Chapter 95

LeahBy the time we arrived at the center of the pack, the entire space had already transformed into something far more imposing than usual, as though the land itself had been reshaped to accommodate the weight of tradition and expectation that now hung in the air.A massive arena had been constructed at the heart of the grounds, a raised platform surrounded by tightly packed earth, its edges reinforced with thick wooden beams that bore the marks of past battles. The surface itself was worn, uneven in places, carrying the silent history of countless fights that had taken place long before this one.Wolves from different packs filled the surrounding space, their presence unmistakable even before I could see them clearly. The air was thick with tension, anticipation rippling through the crowd as groups gathered, voices low but charged, eyes constantly shifting toward the arena as though waiting for something inevitable to begin. This was not just a gatherin

LeahI hesitated, then lifted the lid.Inside lay a gown—black as midnight, woven from something impossibly fine. Tiny moonstones were stitched into the fabric, catching the light in soft, silvery pulses.I stared. “This is…”“Moon-goddess silk,” he said, shaking it out and holding it up to me. The

LeahI watched as they carried Ella away, her limp body slung between two guards like a broken doll. The moment the door to the guest wing clicked shut, Martha whipped around. Her eyes locked onto mine—pure, seething venom.“You’ll pay for this,” she whispered, the words slithering out between clen

Leah“My mother’s necklace,” I snapped, clutching the hidden sheath protectively. “You took it. Give it back.”He smirked. “Not on me. Bring the dagger to the Silver Moon banquet tomorrow. I’ll trade you then.”My eyes widened. “You’re going?”“Worried about me?” He reached up and tucked a strand o
