Hayes pov

The second the car crosses onto our land I want to put my fist through the window. Tate’s driving and hasn’t said shit for more than twenty minutes. Maybe he’s just being smart, because I have a feeling that if he’ll open his big mouth, I might send my first straight through his skull.

Once the house comes into view, the only thing I can think about is Ophelia’s face while she decided she can send us home like we’re some unwanted pests.

“Stop the car,” I suddenly snap, gripping the

I wonder who is the twins father and were they in the first or second book? I still feel like they should be rejected only because Tate cares about the bond and not her still referring her to as Vincent scum..

After the stunt he pulled off, I want to kill him because why the fuck is my back suffering because of his unnatural… well… stuff. That aside, he has found a new target - the bathroom, which very clearly is not up to his standards at all. He’s still grumbling something under his breath when the front door opens. “One shower,” Cylus hisses, wiping the dust off a shelf to his right. “Five people and one shower. I sweat, this is exactly how civilizations collapse.”“Nobody’s telling you that you can’t shower faster,” I comment with a grin. “If we’re all quick, there will be plenty of hot water for everyone.”He turns to look at me, opens his mouth and closes it just as Hayes and Tate walk into the living room and I immediately notice that they don’t look right. First of all, Hayes’s cheek is bruised, turning dark purple. Tate doesn’t look any better, even if he doesn’t have any physical proof of having suffered thr

  • Cursed by the Alphas   119. It’s a start.

Tate povThe drive is quiet for the first five or so minutes, both of us deep in thought. Hayes’ eyes remain focused on the road ahead, both hands gripping the wheel like he’s trying to destroy the thing and his cheek is already turning dark purple where Grayson hit him. He hasn’t said a single word since we left the driveway of the pack house while I sit here and keep waiting for him to tell me I did fine. I didn’t, I really know I didn’t, but I need him to say something - anything so I don’t have to sit here with my wolf pacing in my head, growling, snarling and reminding me how big of a failure I am. “You can say it,” I mutter once the silence becomes far too much to bear.Hayes doesn’t even look over at me. “Say what?”“You can start with the fact that I froze up - again. Maybe add that I stood behind you like I did when we were kids, all while you handled that bastard alone - also, again,” I grumble and hate the taste of every word that leaves my lips.“You didn’t freeze the wh

  • Cursed by the Alphas   118. Don’t look back.

Tate povI knew there had to be a reason why I didn’t want to go home just yet. Hayes insisted, pack affairs and all that shit, and I agreed because arguing with Hayes is a waste of air. And that’s exactly why we’re standing in the main hall of the house, facing the great Alpha Grayson fucking Graves. Just my goddamn fucking luck. He’s sitting in the big chair like he never left this place at all, looking at us like we’re out of date inventory, not his children. While he’s glaring at us, I feel myself trying to back away, the unwanted memories of the silver chains from the past crashing into me like a curse. When his eyes land on me, I feel like that small, sickly, useless kid all over again and just like back then, Hayes angles his body to hide me behind him. Grayson’s gaze scans us like we’re beneath the air he breathes, the standard scowl already pulling at his face, “you’re late.”“We’re not late,” Hayes answers in a flat, cold tone. “We came to check on the pack and leave, tha

Lenox povAlister stands in the hallway with a box in his hands, looking like a man who thinks he’s allowed to leave. Well, jokes on that little shit, I’m not allowing it.Ragh is trying to hide behind me, funny really, given his size, but at least he’s listening. I told him we’re on a mission and he agreed without asking what mission. Love the big guy for it - loyal and slightly doomed, never pestering me with stupid questions. “Director,” Ragh whispers as if on cue. “He’s holding the box with both hands, he can’t defend his face or dignity, right?”“Excellent observation, space cadet,” I whisper back. “We’ll start with psychological warfare and let it evolve into physical only if he cries.”Just as I finish talking, Alister spots us and stops dead in his tracks. “No.”“Yes,” I insist and both me and Ragh leave the hiding space. “You’re packing and we’re here to help. I will supervise you and Ragh can be an emotional support intern.” “Bree says I’m comfort,” Ragh perks up and grins

Cylus povThe house is an insult on the best of the days - no amount of sunlight and flowers could ever fix up this mess. In my humble opinion, the only salvation would be to tear the whole thing down and build a brand new, much better building, but it’s not like anyone would listen to me. Besides, I’ve said the house is bad already six times since we arrived and my tongue is itching to repeat the same words for the seventh. I could deal with the dust and the broken appliances, but one bathroom for five people? Yeah, that’s a war crime. Despite the many complaints I voiced, I’m still left standing in the living room, staring at that damned water stain on the ceiling. I hate this place with passion. Alister left an hour ago, said something about boxes at the main house and the twins headed back to their territory for pack business they insisted couldn’t wait. Which means, for the first time since the ridiculous moving plan began, I’m alone with her.I turn my head and look at Opheli

  • Cursed by the Alphas   115. Princess.

Ophelia povThe first thing I notice is that the house isn’t nearly as big as mom described it. It looks like every other industrial house - two floors, a porch and a yard that looks like nobody’s loved it in a year. Well, I suppose mom didn’t lie about the place, after all, she did say it was empty and available, not that it’s pretty. Hayes parks in front of it and gets out without a word, walking around the car to open the door for me. He’s been quiet the whole drive and even now, he doesn’t offer any opinion, simply stands in the driveway and looks at the tree line like he’s measuring how fast he can get back to his pack from here.Tate’s the first one to rush toward the actual house, running up the stairs, kicking a clump of dirt off the step. “Fuck me, I can already smell the layer of dust inside this place, we’re going to be coughing for a week.”“It’s a house, not a crypt,” Alister calls after him, smiling from ear to ear as his hand catches mine and squeezes it, “we’re livin
