Chapter six

ZIRAH'S POV

Acceptance

Following the path the bodyguard had shown me, I rounded a corner facing several doors until the smell of food cooking from the last door on the right gave me an idea of where the man might be.

Walking as fast as my legs could carry me, I followed the clang of metals and the amazing scents that were permeating the air. Turning the corner, I was greeted by two amazing sights. The first one was the beautiful display of food, some of which were my favorites- I wonder how he knew that- and the other was the man, his back to me, stirring something into a pot. I wondered why he was cooking. Didn't he have chefs that were supposed to cater to his every whim?

I shuffled my feet as I ventured further into the large space which seemed to be a combination of both the dining room and the kitchen in one place, not want to startle him into harming himself while he was cooking, even though from the subtle sniff I took of his scent I knew he was a wolf shifter like me.
