Mark’s POV

Mark’s POV

The cell was quiet, but my mind was a war zone. I sat on the edge of the cold bench, elbows resting on my knees, fingers laced as I stared at the ground. I had counted every crack on the floor, memorized every shadow on the walls. And still, no answer.

Until the cell door opened.

I didn’t look up. Not at first.

Then her voice cut through the silence.

“It’s done.”

Alice.

My jaw tightened as I raised my head. She stood just outside the bars, composed as always, her lips painted with a calm I didn’t trust. Her blonde hair was pulled into a perfect knot, not a strand out of place. That stupid suit hugged her like it belonged there—like she belonged in control.

I rose to my feet slowly, my shoulders stiff. “What the hell are you talking about?”

Alice held out a folder, and behind her, a nervous-looking officer peered over her shoulder. “The charges against you were based on falsified reports. The arrest was shaky from the beginning. I got the evidence tossed and the c

Sege povMark was out dealing with whatever he dealt with and I was here with Alice, probably outside lounging in the pool like she fucking owned the place. I sighed.I needed Mark here now, it’s been long since we…….I barely heard the door close before Mark was on me.Oh so my wishes come through sometimes? One second, I was sitting on the bed, scrolling through my phone. The next, he was there—his hands rough as they grabbed my waist, pulling me against him. His mouth crashed into mine, hard and desperate, and I felt my whole body light up like I’d been waiting for this forever. WowAnd maybe I had.He hadn’t touched me like this for a long time after everything fell apart—the Cholo, the cops, and her.I wasn’t thinking about any of that now. Not with his mouth on mine and his hands sliding under my shirt, dragging it up and over my head. I gasped as the cool air hit my skin, but Mark’s lips were already on my neck, hot and demanding.“Missed you,” he growled against my skin. “Miss

Sage PovI watched Alice from across the cold, gray waiting room, my arms crossed tightly over my chest. She sat with perfect posture, her hands folded neatly in her lap like she wasn’t the most hated woman in the room right now. Her expression was too calm, unreadable, too perfect and controlled.Mark hadn’t said a word to her since she arrived this morning . Not one. Not even when she had looked at him like she was waiting—begging—for some kind of reaction. But he had just turned his back and walked away. And honestly? I wasn’t mad about it.I hated her. I didn’t even know her, but I hated her. Hated that she had put him through hell and She wasn’t just some random lawyer here to help Mark. She was his wife, the wife he thought was dead. The wife who let him think that for years and now she was sitting here like she had every right to be part of his life again. Like she was supposed to just slide back in and fix everything.No. Not a chance.I clenched my jaw, pushing myself up from

  • DADDY'S LITTLE PLAYTHING    CHAPTER 050

Mark’s POVThe walls of my cell felt like they were closing in.I had spent my life fighting to be on top, to never be trapped, never be at anyone’s mercy. Yet here I was, locked up like some caged animal, waiting for a stupid system I didn’t trust to decide my fate.Sage was the only thing keeping me sane. She visited every day, bringing whatever updates Alice gave her. I didn’t give a damn about Alice’s updates, but Sage’s presence? That was the only thing that mattered. She was my only tie to the outside world, the only person I could be soft with.Alice, on the other hand, I wanted nothing to do with. She had faked her death, disappeared without a trace and now she was back, standing in front of me like nothing had happened, expecting me to just let it go.Like hell I would. The plan was simple. I had men on the outside who could make things happen. My time in here had already made me a target—whoever put me behind bars wasn’t going to stop until I was six feet under and I wasn’t

  • DADDY'S LITTLE PLAYTHING    CHAPTER 049

Mark hadn’t said a word since we entered the lawyer’s office. His whole body was tense, his fists clenched at his sides like he was holding back from punching something—or someone.I stood next to him, watching as the officer led us inside. The room was plain, just a desk, a few chairs, and a single woman standing near the window. She was wearing a black suit, her dark hair pinned back, looking professional and sharp. But when she turned around, I could literally feel the tension, Mark’s whole body locked up. His breathing stopped for a second. His jaw tightened so much I thought he might crack his teeth.Because the woman standing there, the one who was supposed to be his lawyer—Was his wife. The wife he thought was dead. I sucked in a breath. What the hell?Mark’s reaction was instant. He stormed forward, his hands slamming down on the desk as he glared at her like she was the worst kind of betrayal.“Alice?” His voice was low and dangerous. “You’re supposed to be dead.”She didn’t

The words hit me harder than they should have.Murder. Really? It wasn’t fair, Mark had saved me, he had saved all of us, but now he was the one being shoved into handcuffs, the one getting dragged outside like some common criminal.I tried to follow, but a cop stepped in front of me, blocking my way. “You’ll have your chance to visit him,” he said coldly. “But not tonight.”And then, just like that—Mark was gone...They wouldn’t let me see him.I had been sitting in the station for hours, my leg bouncing, tapping my fingers nervously on my lap. Around me, Mark’s men were on their phones, making calls, trying to get answers.“He’s not talking,” Hector muttered to me and I perked up.Of course he wasn’t. Mark never explained himself, never defended himself. He just took whatever came, like he already knew how this was going to end.I clenched my fists.No. No Fucking way in hellHe wasn’t going down for this, not for protecting me.I shot up from my seat. “We need a lawyer.”The men e
