I have never really given my future much thought until now.

“No ma’am,” I replied, in a low tone.

“Where are you applying to?” She asked again.

I looked back at Diana who was staring right back at me.

“I have not given it much thought,” I simply replied.

“There is no rush, Miss Vianne,” She replied then began to pack up her books. “I believe you have a talent and I would hate for it to go to waste.”

I nodded my head and watched her make her way out of the class.

“You seem tense,” Diana said to me as I turned towards her.

“Do you know what school you are applying to?” I asked.

“My mom has it all figured out. It's not up to me,” She replied.

For the first time, it dawned on me that I needed to think about what to do with my future.

Which school I was going to apply to and what degree I was going to pursue.

I always knew Briar didn't care about me enough to even think of the future.

“What about you? Have you thought about what school you are going to apply to?” Diana
