SIMON’S POV

“What on earth are you doing here?!”

A frown came over my face immediately and I instantly sat upright.

That damn voice.

There was only one other man who could ever shout like this in my home, and have a voice carrying such an amount of authority, that it even managed to give me chills.

Father… what on earth was he doing here?

Dressed only in a pair of grey sweatpants, I quickly put on a white tank top before I rushed out of the room.

Sure enough, he was in the living room, looking

ANIKA’S POVI hissed and snatched my hand away from his grip.“For someone that I had ensured to leave in my past, you seem to be awfully involved in my business, Mr. Smith,” I said, my voice devoid of any sort of feeling. The words came out cold and sharp...I tried to step past him, but he moved to block my way, his broad frame cutting off any chance of escape.“I asked you a question, Anika.”I almost laughed out loud.I was talking full on, back bending stomach aching laughter. This man still thought I was the Anika of before. The same woman who used to shrink whenever he raised his voice. The same woman who begged for scraps of his attention like a starving dog.The same woman who cried herself to sleep while he paraded around with my sister. He was in for a rude awakening. That Anika was long gone. She died the very day I was pushed off that building and left for dead.“And I already gave you an answer, Simon. None of your damn business,” I snapped. His jaw tightened. He scoffed

ANIKA’S POV“Slow down there, Angel, or you will tire yourself out.”I felt his arms snake around me.My body had become so shamelessly accustomed to his touch by now.I melted into the familiar sensation that felt like home. I turned to face him with a smile, looping my arms around his neck before dropping a soft kiss on his lips.“Hey, baby,” I said. His eyes darkened instantly.“You know my weakness is when you call me pet names.”I smirked and tangled my fingers in his hair, enjoying the way his breath hitched.“Well, maybe I like it when you are all down bad and obsessed with me.”“Really?”I nodded. “Sometimes, you seem to forget that I just may be a little bit as obsessed with you as you are with me.”If it was possible for his gaze to become even more heated, it did. His eyes raked over me so intensely that it felt like he was setting my skin on fire with nothing but a look.“You need to stop saying things like that, Anika. Goddamn.”“Or what?”The challenge was barely out of

  • DEAR EX HUSBAND, YOU LOVED ME TOO LATE   KEEP ANIKA’S NAME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH

LIAM’S POVLooking across the meeting room at Simon Smith, I had to visibly restrain myself from doing something I would regret. For some reason, Anika had still insisted on keeping the contract with Simon. And trust me, I was not on board with this idea at all.Left to me, the only thing that man deserved right now was to be fucking stripped of everything he had. Instantly.Every building,Every title,The money.Every smug little shred of power he thought made him untouchable. But no.Anika was hell bent on playing the long game. And looking at it in hindsight, it made perfect sense. She did not want a quick burst of revenge. She wanted justice. To create damage so permanent, that he would be lucky to even get out of it alive.Still, understanding her reasoning did not stop me from glaring at Simon from across the conference table, fighting the urge to punch a hole straight through his face.Today was the signing of the contract. The day Simon would unknowingly walk into the very tr

  • DEAR EX HUSBAND, YOU LOVED ME TOO LATE    YOU BETTER FIX THIS

SIMON’S POV I was back to drinking again. How could I not? With each passing day, it became more and more obvious that Anika had moved on.She had moved on to someone else.Someone who was not me.And of all the men in the world, it had to be Liam Danson. The irony of it all was so cruel that sometimes I felt like laughing, but the sound always died somewhere in my throat and turned into something bitter instead. The way he looked at her, like she was the sun and he orbited around her willingly.Protected her,Believed her without so much as a second thought. That was everything that I should have been.I shut my eyes and took another long swig from the bottle. The alcohol burned all the way down, but it was nothing compared to the acid clawing at my chest.I had been wrong.Wrong about everything.I should have trusted her.I should have listened.I should have done better. And maybe, just maybe, if I had done even one of those things, Anika would still be here with me.Still sleepi

  • DEAR EX HUSBAND, YOU LOVED ME TOO LATE   I WANT A REWARD

ANIKA’S POV“Anika, are you listening to me?”I jerked back to reality when Liam snapped his fingers in front of my face, his eyebrows scrunched in concern. The car door was already open, and Liam stood in front of me with one hand resting on it, his blue eyes searching mine for the slightest bit of discomfort.“I’m fine. I guess I’m just a little shaken up by everything.”“That’s fine,” he said softly as he offered me his hand.I placed my hand in his, and he helped me out of the car.The moment we stepped into the house and the front door clicked shut behind us, Liam wrapped his arms around me and pulled me against his chest.I immediately melted into his hold.I had not realized just how badly I needed this. Needed him.The warmth of his embrace enveloped me like instantly. It was like he was gathering every broken piece of me and holding them together with nothing but his arms.A stray tear slipped down my cheek.Liam pressed a kiss to the top of my head.“I’m sorry I didn’t come

  • DEAR EX HUSBAND, YOU LOVED ME TOO LATE   SET THE RECORDS STRAIGHT

LIAM’S POV“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.”My entire body was shaking with rage. The words came out low and deadly, making the entire place freeze just for a second.Simon froze instantly. The coward. He couldn’t even look me in the eye.“Mr. D- Danson,” he stammered, his voice trembling. “What are you doing here?”I barely spared him a glance. My focus was entirely on Anika. She looked like she was holding herself together by the thinnest possible thread. Her eyes were glassy with unshed tears, her shoulders tense, her breathing uneven. She looked strong, but I knew her well enough to see the cracks. And the moment her eyes met mine, something inside her seemed to give way.I stretched out my hand.“Come here, my Angel,” I said softly.Truthfully, I had not expected her to come to me like this. Not in front of everyone. Not with dozens of cameras pointed at us.But the second the words left my mouth, she rushed toward me.She threw herself into my arms, clutching me tightly as if
