chapter 4 I'm not a Cinderella

I narrowed my eyes, my expression pinched. My body temperature kicked off soaring. My thoughts berated me, should I just let my friend ruin his life because of those petty girls? No, I would be selfish if I did that. So, I decided to bring him back to reality. "Daze, are you going to order something or will you keep on staring at them??"

Daze cocked his head and then shook it. He lifted one brow before he said, "Dude if you want to die alone without having a girlfriend or wife, suit yourself. But don't try to stop me because I know when a woman is a gold digger or not, and I can tell that these two ladies are decent."

I snorted, my muscles stiff. "If you think like that, then suit yourself too. But you must think carefully before you find a girl you want to marry because looks can deceive you too sometimes. Just be careful. It's not that I'm jealous of you or something, but I'm just showing my concern, that's all."

Daze let out a low sigh. He cleared his throat as if there was a painful lump in it. "I understand what you're saying, but when will you stop living in loneliness?" he asked. "Tazern, sometimes we must let go of the past and move on. The past is everything you were, but it doesn't define who you are right now. Your mother was a gold digger at that time, but does that mean that everyone is like her?"

I sneered as I listened to Daze speak. crossing my arms over my chest. The hatred I had for women was so strong that it sometimes suffocated me with nothing but evil thoughts. There was no need for him to tell me all these things because my hatred was not going to vanish. "Daze, it's better if we don't talk about all these things, okay? Let's just order drinks and relax," I told him, trying to control the rude remarks that I wanted to blurt out.

Dolah's POV.

I felt my face flush and my heart rate increased as my heart thumped against my chest, causing my muscles to tense. The way some men look at me as if I'm a piece of meat waiting to be consumed is something I despise. It's difficult to understand why they can't control themselves. I even had the urge to remove their eyeballs from their sockets."Pinny, let's go on that corner, I don't want to lose my temper because of these shameless Men." I told Pinny my voice above whisperer.

Pinny nodded her head slightly. "Come let's go to that table, only 2 tables are there, we will be comfortable there." She took hold of my hand and guided me toward the table. We both settled down on the table, while behind us, there was another table with two gentlemen. I didn't bother to take a closer look at them.

" So what would you like to have, "Pinny asked me.

"I don't want to have anything, Pinny " I pressed my lips together in a slight grimace. I could feel the heaviness weighing on my body. How could I enjoy anything while my brother was in the hospital? I didn't feel good at all.

Pinny sighed, feeling the lump in her throat. "I'm sorry, Dolah. I know you're sad about your brother. I brought you here to make you feel better. Don't worry, things are going to be alright, okay? I will do everything I can to help you out, okay?"

My eyes softened, filled with an inner glow. All the tension that had been weighing on me was unexpectedly released. I don't know if I can ever repay Pinny's kindness toward me. She had done so much for me that I don't even know how to thank her. "Thank you so much, Pinny. Words alone can't express how thankful I am to you. I will always keep you in my prayers.

"Oh come on, Dolah. You want to make me cry now," Pinny said, exaggeratingly. "Let's order our drinks now." Pinny was about to raise her hand to call for the waiter

when a blond-looking guy, who was a waiter, came to our table with two glasses of cocktails.

"Good evening, ma'am. The guy over there said I should give you some drinks. He said that you two are looking very sexy and that you should join him."

. I lifted my head and fixed a lethal gaze on the waiter. My lips twisted into a deadly smirk as my pulse raced, causing my heart to pound against my chest. A searing heat washed over me, leaving my face flushed with anger. "Where is the man who gave you this message?" I growled at the waiter.

The waiter's reaction was immediate and alarming. His hair stood on end as he lifted the nap, and his face visibly paled. He was unable to speak, only managing to raise a shaking hand and point at the man seated at the bar counter.

Rising from the chair, I grabbed the tray of glasses in my hand. I was about to walk towards the counter, but Pinny grabbed my hand. "Dolah, please let it go. You can't pick a fight with them," she said, her voice shrill.

"Pinny, let go of my arm. I'm not a whore, and I won't let anyone treat me like one. I'm definitely not Cinderella who is looking for a prince charming to pity her and take her out of her dismay, okay?" I grunted. Pinny did not urge me and let go of my arm. I swayed my hips as I sauntered towards the man who was sitting on the counter.

As I approached him, he turned his head with a grin playing on his lips. "Hey, beautiful! I didn't expect you to come. Do you mind joining me? I will pay you well, I promise," he said.

I sneered, glaring at him. "Mr. Whoever-you-are, did I ask you for a drink? No, I didn't. Do I know you? No, I don't, and I don't even wish to know such a despicable man like you. And let me tell you this," I hissed at him. "My way of dressing doesn't make me whatever you think I am, okay? I don't need any drink from you."

The man chuckled and stood up from his chair, approaching me. "You know, the way you speak turns me on so much that I want nothing but to take off the dress that you are wearing and fuck you hard until you cry my name only.

My face flushed with anger and my muscles tensed, but I refrained from violence. "Men are narrow-minded," I seethed through gritted teeth as I grabbed a glass and poured its contents over his head. The man was caught off guard and stood there motionless as I grabbed another glass. "You must learn to respect women," I continued, "because insulting me is like insulting your mother, sister, and daughter. Just because I'm wearing a short dress doesn't mean I'm a gold digger looking for a rich man. Everyone has a right to dress how they want in this country without getting any judgment from anyone." I poured the second glass over him, making a point. The bar patrons watched, but I didn't stop until I had made my point. I returned to my table after placing the tray of glasses on the counter with a loud bang, leaving the man in a daze.

Everyone watched me in disbelief and others started murmuring, but I did not pay heed to them.

"Dolah, are you crazy or brave?" Pinny asked, looking at me as I pulled a chair and sat down.

I snorted, rolling my eyes. "He should be grateful that I did not break his bones. I just hate all the men in this world. They are all the same if sex could kill they would be no man in this world, maybe he has a wife at home but is busy chasing after young girls, just imagine the nerves ." I hissed angrily. I hated it when women are being used like this. I could not stand it.

" Dolah, watch out. "Pinny yelled at me but it was already too late because the man at the counter grabbed my hair, compelling me to rise off the chair.

I  felt a sudden sharp pain at the top of my head as I was roughly yanked backward by my hair. I  let out a cry of surprise and fear, not knowing what was happening to me.

In an instant, I  saw the face of a man with a snarl on his lips as he grabbed hold of my hair. Without a second thought, I  raised my right hand and swung it with all my might, punching the man hard in the face.

The man let out a grunt and stumbled backward, releasing his grip on my hair. I  felt a moment of relief and saw the man recover and begin to advance toward me again. I  knew she had to act fast.

I  took a step forward and swung my left hand, connecting with the man's jaw. He reeled backward again, this time falling to the ground. I stepped back, my heart racing as I  watched the man struggle to stand up.

Though my hands were trembling with fear and adrenaline, I felt an unfamiliar sense of power surge within me.

"I had told you that I'm not a Cinderella, which means I'm not weak. Better don't try to mess with me." I turned my back to Pinny. "I can't stay here anymore."

Pinny rose from the chair, and the two of us left the bar, everyone clapping their hands for me. Not that I cared for them.
