DUNCAN'S POV

I was lucky enough to still find myself alive after the blade had been plunged into my body.

My eyes fluttered open and I made the mistake of looking to my side abruptly. I let out a groan as it caused a sharp pain to my neck. My vision was blurry but I could make out two figures rush up towards me.

"Alpha, how do you feel?" The first voice which I recognized to be the pack healer's asked. I wanted to reply that it felt as if my soul was leaving my body but I couldn't. I could barely open my lips. My hands couldn't move on their own command.

I lay there still and closed my eyes and slipped away. I was barely conscious and I could still hear their voices faintly.

"Is he going to be okay?" Sophia asked. I couldn't see be but I assumed she would have a pale face and a worried look on her. Even though I couldn't imagine her like that, ever since Lyra, I began to doubt if Sophia really cared about me. Hell, I began to worry if I ever cared about her in the first pl
