Reborn At Eighteen
A smile appeared on her face as she waited for the pain. THUD! As her body collided with the ground, Amira suddenly gasped and woke up from the bed. She wiped the cold sweat from her forehead and stared at her hands in disbelief. She clearly died from the fall and could still feel some lingering pain in her bones. How could she be completely fine now?. Wait a minute. She looked around and found that the room looked familiar. The old bookshelf, the broken window, the old bedbug-infested bed—this was her home in the small village where she lived with her grandpa. She quickly ran out of the room, not caring if she was dreaming or not. She went to the sitting room, but her grandpa wasn't there. “Amira, you finally woke up.” Sima said while smiling at her sweetly. Amira found the smile really creepy, as this aunt never liked her, nor does she care if she dies from starvation. She ignores her aunt and walks up to the calendar on the wall. “Umm, Aunt Sima, what is today's date?” She asked. “What! Has your grandpa's death made you lose your mind?” It's just three days after your grandpa's death,” she asked with a sarcastic tone. Three days after grandpa's death? How is this possible? Grandpa died in 2015, when I was just eighteen years old. This means I came seven years ago, in 2022. God must have seen all my suffering and given me another chance to live my best life. “What is wrong with her?” Edward asked his wife as soon as he saw Amira's weird behavior. “I don't know; she is acting weird,” she replied without bothering to raise her head. Their discussion brought Amira back from her thoughts. “Mom, she is leaving tomorrow, right?” Lisa asked. "Yes, sweetie, her father is coming to take her back to the city, Sima replied to her daughter. “I want her room, dad,” Lisa said while looking at her dad. “In your dreams,” Amira replied before her uncle. “What do you mean by that? Your grandpa died, and you are going back to the city to live with your family. Do you expect us to continue paying rent for our little apartment and leave this house empty?” Sima said it angrily while glaring at Amira. “Someone that hears you now will think you actually killed your father-in-law,” Amira sneered. “What has gotten into you? Is that how you talk to your elders?” Edward asked with anger evident in his tone. “I was just stating my observations and nothing more,” she replied without even raising her head. She turns and heads back to her room. The couple share a puzzled look. “Did you notice the coldness in her eyes?”She used to be so easy to manipulate and gullible, but now she seems like a totally different person,” Sima said with a puzzled expression. “She is leaving tomorrow, and that is all that matters,” Edward said without much expression on his face. The next morning, as early as 7 a.m., Amira was awakened by the sounds of knocking on her room door. “What took you so long to open the door?” Sima asked angrily as soon as the door was opened. “I don't remember asking you to wake me,” Amira replied impatiently. “Am I not doing this for your own good? I know you don't have any presentable clothes, so I brought one of Lisa's gowns for you to wear, and you are being ungrateful." Sima said as she threw the dress at her angrily and walked away. Two hours later, Amira walked down the stairs with a little suitcase. She takes her grandpa's photo frame from the sitting room cabinet and walks out the door. “Please drive carefully; our Mira gets scared easily,” Sima said while sharing a few crocodile tears. “I will miss my sister so much,” Lisa said, joining her mother's drama. “Don't you feel ashamed of yourself; even a blind man can tell that you are pretending,” Amira said with a sneer and got into the car. As soon as the car left her grandpa's compound, she could feel the driver's eyes on her, but she acted like she didn't notice. She remembers him very well. He was the same driver who also came to pick her up in her previous life. One of her stepmother's loyal servants. The driver suddenly changes routes and takes a lonely and secluded road. In her previous life, this was the same road where she was kidnapped and almost raped. The driver slowed down and continually checked his phone as if he were waiting for a signal. “What…what are you doing, Miss?” the driver asked in fear as Amira suddenly placed a fruit knife on his neck. “Start talking!” Amira ordered while pressing the knife on his neck, which caused him to start bleeding. “I don't understand what you mean,” the driver replied with fear in his eyes. “I can kill you right now, and no one will suspect a thing. So you better start talking, "she threatened. “It was madam who asked me to take you here and wait for a signal from the people she hired. I don't know anything else,” he said with a fearful and pleading voice. “It seems like my stepmother never intended to welcome me." She chuckled. “I can turn the car around and take you home. Please just put the knife down,” the driver pleaded. “There is no guarantee that you won't report to my stepmother if I let you go, so...” She immediately slits throat and watched coldly until he took his last breath. She gets out of the car and takes her suitcase from the booth. She started walking back to the original road. Suddenly, several sounds of gunshots rang out on the quiet road. Amira follows the sound to see what is going on. She is shocked when she sees several armed men continually shooting at a car with tinted windows. They seem to be more focused on the driver's side. They stopped when they were sure that the victim wouldn't survive. As soon as they left, she walked up to the car, a Mercedes-BBenz C300. She finds a stone to break the driver's side window. The driver, with more than ten bullet holes in his body, came into view. He was clearly dead already, as no one can survive after being shot several times, with some of the bullets hitting some vital parts. While still observing the driver's condition, she suddenly felt chills run down her spine, and she raised her head to look at the back seat, only to meet a pair of cold blue eyes staring at her wearily.Amira's POV Everything feels weird and I had a gut feeling that there was something I wasn't aware of, something extremely important.“Are you ready to go?” Zain entered my hospital room with a charming smile. His smile should give me butterflies in my stomach but why do I feel such a strong disgust towards him?Does losing my memories affect my emotions to such an extent?.Then why didn't I feel disgusted with that Leonardo guy?.“Mimi….Amira” Zain tapped on my shoulder to pull me out of my thoughts.“What's wrong with you? I have been calling you” he said with an impatient tone.“What do you mean?” I asked him with a frown and he quickly smiled.“ I mean what is bothering you? You keep spacing out” he said while rubbing my palm gently. His smile was so perfect and it seemed like the impatient expression I saw a few seconds ago was all in my imagination.“Everything is ready, we can leave now” he said and two of his men came in to help with my luggage.I nodded at him before walking
Leo's POV I pulled Zain off the bed and landed a solid punch on his face. The bowl of soup he was holding fell and broke, the pieces littering the floor.“How dare you come close to her?!” I asked him as I landed another punch on his face.He didn't fight back, which was very unlike him.He just kept trying to push me away from him.“Who are you? Stop hitting him!” Amira yelled at me while pressing the emergency button.I pushed Zain aside and went over to where she was sitting. “Hey….” I tried to touch her face but she shifted back in fright. She stared at me like I was a stranger.“Mimi” I called her but she moved further away from me.The door suddenly opened and a group of doctors rushed in.“Miss Delgado, is everything alright?” One of them asked Amira.“He walked into my room and attacked my fiance” she replied while gesturing at me.I just stared at her in confusion and couldn't react for a while.“I'm fine my love” Zain said as he pushed me aside to hold her.I pulled him by
Leo's POV My head felt so heavy as I slowly opened my eyes. The first thing I saw was a white ceiling then I slowly turned my head to the side.Seb was sitting by the bedside and speaking to Cam in a hushed voice.Cough!Cough!I started coughing when I tried to speak due to the dryness of my throat. Cam quickly handed me a glass of water while Seb helped me to sit up and get a comfortable position.“ How long was I out?” I asked after drinking some water.“Four days,” Seb replied with a relieved expression. He seemed to want to say something but hesitated.“What happened?” I asked while staring at his face. His reaction told me that something big had happened which I was unaware of.“How is Amira?” I asked Cam when he refused to speak.“She is fine, she woke up two days ago and is recovering quite well” she said with a reassuring smile and I breathed a sigh of relief.Thank goodness she is okay.“Any other thing that I need to know?” I asked her as Seb clearly wanted to keep me in
Leo's POV “How did it go?” I asked Asher after dropping off Amira at school. “Everything went well, they didn't suspect a thing” he replied with a smile. I took out my phone and called Seb. “Has Amira left the school?” I asked him with a serious tone as there were always uncertainties in plans and I couldn't let her get hurt. “She is on her way,” he replied. “Keep an eye on her, nothing should go wrong” I instructed before hanging up. “Everything is going according to the plan” I informed Asher as I took a hiding position that allowed me to see the girls apartment clearly. A few minutes later, two men dressed in all black with their faces covered arrived in front of the apartment. They separated, one went to stand behind the pillar and the other stood at the entrance of the apartment. Amira arrived at this moment and walked straight towards the man in front of the apartment. The hiding man quickly stepped out of his hiding spot and gave her a palm strike on the neck. I had
Amira’s POV “Why can't I be here, Sister?” She asked me with a smirk.“Aren't you supposed to be rotting in jail with your mother?” Cam asked her with an unfriendly tone.“Sister, how can you treat me like this? I have always been nice to you and always made sure you were comfortable in my parents house” Sasha said while shedding some crocodile tears.I noticed that a lot of people were listening and some were even recording with their phones.I didn't want any form of unnecessary rumors and scandal on my first day in my new school.“Let's just ignore her” I said to my friends and turned away from her.“Sister, why do you hate me so much?” She yelled from behind while still sobbing loudly.“Did you hear that? How can she be so heartless to her sister?”“It looks like she really cares about their relationship”“She is so pretty but has a heart of stone”“She shouldn't be allowed to study here, how can such a wicked person be a student here?”Different comments and murmurs filled the w
Amira’s POV It still feels like a dream, I can't believe that I finally got revenge on Elizabeth and her daughter.Knock knock!“Mimi, can I come in?” Claire's voice came from outside the door and I immediately opened it.“What's up bitch?” She asked with a smile as she stepped into my room.“Damn…you are done packing and I still have a lot to pack” she sighed dramatically and fell on the bed.“I thought aunt May was helping you?” I asked while laughing at her antics.“She offered to but my Mom said she shouldn't” she complained with a pitiful expression.“Why would she do that?” I asked while trying to like I was heartbroken by her predicament.“She said that I need to develop a sense of responsibility” she said with her nose scrunched up in disgust.I couldn't stop laughing, she is always so dramatic and fun to be around. We have become really close and we decided to rent a four bedroom flat so we can stay together. It will only be me, Cam, Lisa and Claire. It will definitely be fu
