Mia's POV

I approached Thomas who was on the beach, standing next to the shore and watching the waves. The sun set slowly below the horizon, casting a warm orange glow over the sea and enhancing the features of Thomas’ face.

“Thomas, you wanted to talk to me?” I said as I approached him.

He looked back and saw me, his eyes glinting in the moonlight. “Yes, I can not believe you came.”

I walked closer to him. “I decided to hear you out. I was not being fair.”

He nodded. “thank you so much.”

We sat there in silence for a while.

“So, what did you want to talk to me about?” I asked, trying to maintain a casual voice.

He looked deep into my eyes. “Mia, I want to assure you that Emma and I are just friends and I will have no relationship with her. She even tried to deceitfully use my son to take money from me and that is the reason I haven't talked to you in a month.”

I frowned. “How could she do that? Using her own child to pursue her greed? Did she succeed?”

Thomas shook his head
