Alina pov

I didn’t even know how to give him the resignation letter.

Mom said she’d tell Ryan for me, but I knew I had to do it myself. Maybe for the last time. Just long enough to get him to accept it.

“I called him this morning, Alina,” she said while putting on her shoes. “He didn’t pick up. You’ll have to go yourself.”

After she left I just… paced. Back and forth across my room. How was I supposed to look at him and say I’m leaving? That I’m moving somewhere far away so we don’t run into e

Alina pov I didn’t even know where he was taking me, but I trusted him.His hands stayed locked around my arms the whole time, gripping so hard it felt like he thought I might try to run. He never looked at me. I already knew this wasn’t the way to his house. He was taking me somewhere else..somewhere that hid the darkest parts of him.He stopped. I looked around. There was nothing. Just empty space and silence. Then he finally met my eyes.“Come.”I followed him. His fingers dug deeper into my skin with every step, leaving marks I could already feel. He led me down into the basement. No one else was there. Not a single soul.He unlocked a heavy gate. Inside sat a cage.I turned to look at him. His eyes were completely empty of emotion.“This is what you wanted to see,” he said, voice low. “The real me. The dangerous me.”A rough laugh left his throat as his body pressed against mine. His fingers traced over my lips, then pushed inside my mouth.“Suck.”His other hand tangled hard in

Ryan pov I looked into her eyes and, for one fractured second, everything I had built inside myself fell apart. Every wall, every carefully stacked brick around my heart shattered the moment I understood she was running from me.I needed her closer. I needed her to hear how much I cared, how completely I loved her. She had always been the only light cutting through the dark corners of my world. Not just my friend’s daughter. A woman who could take my heart in her hands and do whatever she wanted with it.I closed the space between us. My mouth found hers.Soft. Warm. Slightly parted. I pushed my tongue past her lips and the taste of her nearly dropped me to my knees. Tears were already sliding down her cheeks; I caught them with my tongue, salty and trembling, and licked them away like I could erase every reason she had to cry.She dragged in a shaky breath. I pulled her deeper into the office and shut the door hard behind us.I backed her against the wall, pinning both wrists above

Just long enough to get him to accept it.“I called him this morning, Alina,” she said while putting on her shoes. “He didn’t pick up. You’ll have to go yourself.”After she left I just… paced. Back and forth across my room. How was I supposed to look at him and say I’m leaving? That I’m moving somewhere far away so we don’t run into each other anymore. No more seeing him. No more talking. No more feeling that quiet ache that always follows me around when he’s near. That night I stood by the window. The moon was big and white and the sky looked peaceful, but my eyes kept going back to the table. The resignation letter was just sitting there, folded neat. I closed my eyes and tried to invent a better excuse, a softer way to end this. End all the pain. When I woke up the next morning the dark circles under my eyes were bad. I h

Alina’s PovI cried hard, but silently. Just stared at the door, waiting for something… anything..any confession even if it was a no. I would accept it but this silence was killing me.He left me without even answering me. I wiped my tears and immediately hugged my knees. I went to take a bath. The water was hot, but my heart still felt heavy. My mind, though… it was clear for once.I need to get away from him. As far as I can. If I stay, I’ll never forget him. Every time I close my eyes, all I see is his face. Every time I looked at him my heart couldn’t control anymore. I love him so much but it hurts. It hurts every time I look into those eyes that didn’t love me. I went back home with a heavy heart. Mom was sitting on the couch. She looked up and smiled.“You came back, Alina.”I just nodded.“There’s a parcel for you,” she said.“Who sent it?”“I don’t know.”I nodded again and went to my room. The package was sitting on the table. I opened it carefully. It was from the unive

Alina pov I woke up with a killer headache, blinking hard as I looked around. Empty. No one. I checked myself quickly. Just underwear. That was it. My clothes were gone, and I couldn’t remember a single thing from last night, only partying with Emma and Olivia and after that everything started blurring. My heart started racing a little. Then I heard footsteps from the bathroom. The door opened and Mr Parker walked out.Nothing but a towel hanging low on his hips. Water is still dripping down his chest and stomach. Those eyes of his locked on me with that same mischievous look, and my mouth went completely dry.“Like what you see?” he said, smirking.I turned away fast, pulled the blanket up to my chin, and curled onto my side. He came over and sat on the edge of the bed. “How are you feeling?”I didn’t want to answer him. I just wanted space. But every time I thought about him, I felt myself falling harder. I kept my face turned away from that face that could drop any woman to her

Alina’s POVI hadn’t gone back to work. For days I stayed locked inside my room, hiding from everything and everyone. I didn’t know how to face him. He had rejected me… rejected my love… and I had no idea what to do with the shattered pieces of my heart or how to even begin putting them back together. The pain was worse than any breakup story I had ever read.My mother kept asking what was wrong, but the words wouldn’t come. I couldn’t tell her. Then my phone rang. Emma’s name lit up the screen. She had been calling nonstop for two days, and I had ignored every single one. I knew she wouldn’t stop until I finally answered.“Alina, where are you? Girl, you didn’t even pick up my calls. Are you all right?” she asked without giving me a chance to speak.“Let her speak, Emma,” Olivia cut in. They were on a conference call.“I’m fine, guys.”“I don’t think so,” Emma said. “You’ve never ignored our calls like this.”“Okay, Emma. Let’s just meet and talk about whatever’s going on,” Olivia in
