A Consolation

Belle gulped on what she had heard. She saw Leon humming in a thought and stared at him as though waiting for his explanation. Hearing none, she interrupted, “My sister is a human.”

“Of course she is,” Leon replied with a smile, “If not, you would not be a human either. What Agares meant is that someone had impersonated your sister. A demon had taken her appearance to cross over his land. Remind me again who might be good in impersonating people, Agares?”

Agares in response, stayed quiet. He frowned to remember the demons he knew who might be skilled in taking other’s appearance.

“Her, isn’t it?” Agares finally spoke up. “Kore. She must be in Hell. She loved to have a kingdom of herself, after all.”

“That is where we are going then,” Leon responded. He then shifted his red gaze toward her. “A shame we didn&rsquo
